DESIGN NAME: Voyease
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Virtual Travel Interface
INSPIRATION: The project was inspired by the increasing challenges of aging, isolation, and limited access to travel. Many people are unable to explore the world due to health, distance, or time. VoyEase reimagines remote travel as an interactive and sensory rich experience. It draws on advances in wearable devices and digital communication to create meaningful connections between travelers and real places. This approach makes exploration more inclusive, personal, and emotionally engaging.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: VoyEase is a user experience and interaction design created for a virtual travel platform. It helps people who cannot travel in person to explore real destinations in a more emotional and human way. The design presents live guidance, visual sharing, and sensory feedback as key features that support personal journeys. Through a wish based system, each trip is shaped to reflect the goals and feelings of the traveler, creating a meaningful and personal experience.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Users start by selecting or submitting a place they wish to explore. A guide responds and begins a live tour using smart glasses. The traveler watches from a first person view, interacts by tapping on the screen or speaking simple voice commands, and receives sensory feedback like sound and smell. The interface adjusts at each step to keep the experience personal and immersive.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project was developed between January 2023 and April 2023

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The design combines minimalist futurism with emotional cues, aiming for a clear interface with warm visuals and dynamic micro interactions. It was developed through user journey mapping, prototyping, and scenario based testing. Focused on visual structure, information flow, and contextual realism, VoyEase offers a more authentic and personal interaction between people and places.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The design features a modular interface adaptable to smart glasses, mobile devices, and large displays. It supports real time streaming, voice input, ambient color adaptation, and sensory feedback. Screen sizes range from 375 x 812 px to 1920 x 1080 px.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: This design is based on qualitative research focused on making virtual travel more human and inclusive. We studied needs of people who cannot travel due to health or age through interviews and scenario testing. Tools included journey mapping and low fidelity prototypes. Results showed a desire for real time connection, emotional presence, and sensory detail. These findings shaped a more personal and accessible user experience.
CHALLENGE: The main challenge was creating a remote travel experience that feels personal and emotionally real. It was hard to balance immersive interaction with visual clarity for users with different needs. Simulating smell was especially limited, as only a few common scents could be used. Social issues like loneliness and inclusion also pushed the design beyond functional goals.
