| DESIGN NAME: Source of Subtle Waves PRIMARY FUNCTION: Liquor Packaging INSPIRATION: This Baijiu packaging, inspired by the harmony between strength and gentleness, features a waterdrop shaped bottle, symbolizing the transformation of grain and water into Baijiu over time and highlighting the craftsmanship of the brewer. The contrast between metal and ceramic showcases the balance of strength and gentleness in Eastern aesthetics. Inspired by ancient scholar headdresses, the cap integrates the elegance of poetry and drink culture, offering a culturally meaningful experience. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Through creative design and craftsmanship, this Chinese Baijiu packaging breaks the rustic style of traditional Jiang flavour Baijiu, perfectly blending strength and gentleness. The waterdrop shaped bottle represents the arduous brewing process, employing traditional craftsmanship to achieve an interplay between metal and ceramic. This showcases the aesthetics of harmony between strength and gentleness in traditional Chinese culture, converting this Baijiu from a drink into an art collection. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The ceramic ensures optimal breathability, maintaining ideal humidity for the liquor and preserving its quality. Its high chemical resistance prevents acid and alkali corrosion, ensuring purity and extended shelf life. The ergonomic design of the bottle features a wider midsection and narrower ends, with a symmetrical 5 to 5 ratio between the body and neck, facilitating easy handling and pouring. Inspired by ancient scholar headdresses, the cap adds a dignified touch to the opening experience. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: This Baijiu packaging combines ceramic and gold plated metal, using ceramic firing techniques from Jingdezhen and high temperature relief decals to create a textured, three dimensional surface with a delicate feel, adding unique artistic value. Ceramics, the primary material, feature low energy and material consumption during firing, do not release harmful substances, and meet green production standards, achieving both practicality and environmental friendliness. This design pays tribute to Chinese tradition while exploring innovative forms, offering a unique product that combines cultural depth with a high quality experience. CHALLENGE: The design challenge was to harmonize the contrasting elements of strength and gentleness, conveying both the power of the brewing process and the smoothness of the liquor. The bottle, abandoning the traditional rustic form, adopts a waterdrop shape with textures that symbolize time, evoking the softness of the liquor and the resilience of the brewing process. The interplay of ceramic and metal materials seamlessly blends strength and gentleness, embodying modern design elegance.
