| DESIGN NAME: Anah PRIMARY FUNCTION: Jewerly Box INSPIRATION: The appearance is inspired by both classical architecture and jewelry design, featuring fluted leather stitch and Clous de Paris metal parts. The series is designed to resemble architecture, which also shifts its look under different lighting conditions for the jewelry placed inside. For the function, the research of user behavior was conducted in the process of deisgn, therefore each product from the series provides unique features aim to enhance user experience compared to other product UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The Anah series offers a diverse range of products to suit various scenarios, whether indoor or for travel. Inspired by the Greek column, the leather stitching technique creates a three-dimensional surface on the boxes. Combined with metal parts employing the Clous de Paris element, the series embodies an elegant and sensible character in its appearance. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: All the jewelry boxes and cases in the Anah series feature multiple compartments; first, they have several layers in the box for categorized storage. The boxes also come with drawers and a lid for better jewelry protection. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The Project started in March 2023 in Shenzhen and was completed in September 2024. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The boxes are crafted with PU leather on the exterior, ensuring durability and resistance to water and stains. The interior is lined with velvet, offering an exquisitely soft touch and optimal protection for jewelry. The metal components comprise plated zinc alloy with a unique blend, attaining a distinctive faded golden hue. The structure of the jewelry boxes is fabricated from MDF to provide ample strength and durability. At the same time, the travel cases feature a plastic shell for lighter weight and enhanced crush resistance. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: 380*270*160 mm TAGS: Storage Design, Jewelry Boxes, Fashion, Home accessories RESEARCH ABSTRACT: In the design process, the research on user behavior revealed that many jewelry owners prefer storage solutions with a chic design that reflects the current trend and incorporates the timeless spirit of jewels. Inspired by this result, the design team has collected a series of design elements and craft techniques from architecture, jewelry, and watch design. The Anah series was created by combining and matching all these design elements. CHALLENGE: The creative challenge of Anah jewelry boxes is finding the perfect balance between quality and cost. As their MSRP ranges from around $20 to $60, to achieve this goal, the dimensions of each box are meticulously calculated to ensure they have the maximum capacity without increasing shipping or storage costs too much. The stitching technique is also selected through trial and error to ensure the lines are indistinct yet noticeable, creating a soft fluting surface to the sight and touch.
