INSPIRATION: The Shantou Marriott Hotel, nestled in the vibrant coastal city, is situated at the confluence of three rivers and boasts captivating scenery of Shantou's inner harbor, surrounded by mountains. It is a prime example of modern luxury combined with thoughtful design elements that pay homage to the region's rich cultural heritage. The hotel aims to offer guests a sophisticated retreat where comfort meets elegance everywhere, impressing visitors with its unique spatial experience.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Nestled between mountains and overlooking the sea, the hotel showcases a perfect blend of modern luxury and meticulously curated design elements that honor the region's rich cultural heritage. With over 300 rooms often fully booked since its opening, the hotel guarantees guests a harmonious and tranquil escape during their travels, immersing them in a pleasant state of relaxation. Firstly, the hotel's overall layout exudes a sense of openness, cleverly integrating indoor and outdoor spaces through streamlined designs to provide guests with a delightful living experience. Secondly, the designers have demonstrated great ingenuity in their use of colors, primarily opting for soft, natural tones to create a serene and comfortable ambiance.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The Shantou Marriott Hotel boasts 315 meticulously crafted modern guest rooms and suites, each inspired by the rich intangible cultural heritage of Chaozhou and Shantou. Since its opening, the hotel has consistently maintained high occupancy rates, with over 300 rooms frequently operating at full capacity. It ensures that guests find a harmonious and tranquil oasis amidst their travels, enveloping them in a state of delightful relaxation and rejuvenation.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in March of 2018 and finished in May of 2021, and was opened in 2023 in Shantou, Guangdong Province, China.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The quintessential representation of Lingnan's traditional folk housing, usually built with a timber framework and brick infill, employing materials such as green bricks, stone columns, and stone slabs. Its exterior walls are embellished with patterns of flowers and birds. This deconstructed and reimagined design not only showcases the rich cultural tapestry of the region but also underscores the hotel's commitment to preserving and celebrating local heritage through contemporary interior design practices.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The design of Shantou Marriott Hotel strikingly exemplifies the exquisite fusion of modernity and tradition, impressing visitors with its unique spatial experience. Upon entering the hotel, guests are immediately captivated by a colossal mural panel, measuring an impressive height 8150mm X width 4800 mm X 25 mm depth, which presents a reinterpretation of the "Four Gold Points" concept, a cherished aspect of Chaoshan's non-material cultural heritage.
