DESIGN NAME: Light Wave
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Office
INSPIRATION: Beyond meeting the essential requirements for conducting business and hosting guests, the owner desires a luxurious and grand atmosphere. The designer ensures consistency and professionalism in the brand's overall image, allowing visitors to immediately recognize the meticulous attention to detail and care put into the environment. This approach fosters recognition, making it easier to build trust and loyalty towards the brand.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Industrial style accentuated by perforated leaf ceiling: The entrance ceiling features a dense leaf canopy, resonating with the company's name and logo. The perforated design maintains ceiling height, reducing visual pressure, while the exposed steel structure adds an industrial touch. A chic gallery constructed with stone and leather: The staircase, made of two stone types, appears to float, ensuring transparency. The second-floor corridor, resembling a private gallery, highlights collectibles. A wood-grain ceiling and leather-clad walls create rhythm, while a light strip enhances elegance.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The first floor is designed for employees, providing a comfortable and functional workspace. Despite limited space, careful planning ensures separate restrooms and a modern, minimalist lounge. Equipped with a coffee machine, rice cooker, microwave, and gas stove, the space allows employees to recharge during breaks. This setup enables them to enjoy a pleasant lunch, restoring energy and enhancing productivity. Thoughtful design maximizes efficiency, fostering a relaxed yet professional atmosphere that supports focus and well-being throughout the workday.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project finished in March 2024 in Taiwan.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Materials: Stone, natural wood, metal, water ripple metal panels, large tiles, leather, translucent paper, etc. The design primarily uses stone and wood as the foundation, with metal accents added in selective areas. The choice of colors is equally thoughtful. The second-floor corridor and executive offices, with their earthy tones, incorporate rose gold accents. The conference room, with its cool blue undertones, features water-ripple metal panels. On the main logo wall, the interplay of stone textures and translucent paper showcases the brand's distinctive aesthetic.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The site spans a total area of 264.4 square meters. Adapting to the two-story layout, the designer divided the space according to its functions. The first floor is designated for employee offices and the lounge, while the second floor houses the executive offices and the reception area. This clear division of spaces makes navigation more intuitive and straightforward. Sliding doors replace traditional door panels, with some panels made of glass to create a sense of transparency and visual extension, making the space look spacious and bright.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The owner sought a grand and luxurious style, achieved through expansive stone surfaces that exude grandeur, complemented by subtle metal and wood accents for a balance of strength and softness. Visitors are instantly captivated by the brand's refined taste and attention to detail, enjoying a regal and immersive experience. A modern break area and restrooms support work-life balance. The ceiling design reinforces brand identity- the first floor's lush leaf motifs symbolize growth, while the second floor's coastal-inspired curves evoke a dynamic connection to the ocean.
CHALLENGE: In addition to the desire for a grand and luxurious aesthetic, the owner had specific preferences and ideas regarding the selection of materials, even personally choosing what they believed to be suitable materials to provide to the designer. As a result, thorough communication and discussion between both parties were essential during the conceptualization and actual construction phases to ensure a seamless and harmonious integration of the stone, wood, and other materials provided by the owner.
