| DESIGN NAME: Eye PRIMARY FUNCTION: Wedding Ceremony INSPIRATION: The bridegroom was attracted by the eyes of the bride and fell in love with her at first sight. Inspired by this, we hope to reproduce this special moment at the holy wedding ceremony to refresh this new couple's memories. The wedding ceremony serves for family members and relatives to witness the love of the new couple, hence this ceremony is set up in a special site and takes "EYE" as the theme, using decorations to connect the people and nature and conveying the best wishes to the new couple. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The bridegroom was attracted by the bride's deep eyes at first sight, so the designers chose "EYE" as the theme to reproduce the touching moment in an artistic form at a wedding ceremony. The site is set up in a 2500-year-old ancient city, aiming to bless the new couple's love as eternal as the time-honored ancient city. All artificial floral decorations are recyclable, symbolizing long-lasting love. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The guest area is arranged to encircle the new couple so that guests can witness the ceremony from different angles, which echoes the theme "EYE" of this wedding ceremony and makes the ceremony more interactive. These guests visually look like sparkles from the "EYE", forming an impressive picture and reflecting the blessing from everywhere. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in March 2023 in Suzhou. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Separable sprayed ironwork is utilized to sketch the contour of the eye, forming a 3D shape to make the scene an eye from a top or side view, which delivers a layered sense. The pupil features special-shaped wave-like spangles that glow under sunlight to be more vivid. The floral decorations in dark and light blue tones create a romantic atmosphere, highlighting the mystery of the eye. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The ancient city interior area: 22m*17m (length*width). The ceremony area(include artificial floral decorations): 12m*12m (length*width). The 3D "EYE" installation: 10m*0.6m & 8m*0.4m & 5m*0.4m (length*width). The irregularly-shaped wave-like spangles: 4m*2m (length*width). TAGS: EYE, emotional customization, light and shadow transisitions, highly-interactive scene, immersive experience, outdoor wedding ceremony RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Modern young people's weddings have evolved towards customization, transcending traditional wedding forms. Through in-depth insight into the new couple's love journey, we have refined the theme of "EYE", which symbolizes the groom's falling into his bride's deep eyes at first sight. We reproduce the touching moment with multiple details at the ceremony, aiming to convey their love story to every guest on site. CHALLENGE: How to make the themed wedding ceremony more immersive was a huge challenge of this project. The pupil features special-shaped wave-like spangles that glow under sunlight to be more vivid and dynamic, enhancing the sense of layering of the overall scene.
