| DESIGN NAME: Airwheel SE3S PRIMARY FUNCTION: Suitcase INSPIRATION: To address the challenge of physical exhaustion in the final stage of travel and to expand the mobility range of the user, this product incorporates a traditional suitcase with innovative ride n go functionality. The suitcase is compact and easily transportable, enabling users to ride to their destination with it as a personal carrier. Moreover, it has a mobile charging function to provide a more efficient and energy saving travel solution. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Airwheel SE3S electric smart suitcase represents a departure from the traditional design of suitcases that serve only storage purposes. Rather, it introduces an innovative mobility feature, enabling users to ride on the suitcase and go in public transport venues. Moreover, it incorporates a side opening storage design, mobile charging, and other features in one product, offering versatile functionality to users. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The design of the product adheres to the principle of simplicity, with only two twist grips on the electric operation handle, which correspond to go forward and brake, respectively. When controlled together, they enable the reverse. This design simplifies the operation and can be easily understood even by older people. The product also has an intelligent app, which includes cruising, Bluetooth alerts, search functions and customized route programming, establishing a one-stop service system. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The SE3S was designed and developed in Changzhou in April 2021, and subsequently launched in China in 2021. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The case is outfitted with 5.5inch vacuum foam tyres and a patented 6 series high strength aluminium alloy frame utilizing onepiece forming technology. The structure is reinforced with 52 high strength rivets, which ensure that the product moves smoothly and can support a weight of up to 110 kg. These features make it ideal for various road conditions and consumer groups. Additionally, the electric telescopic handle of the case can extend up to 180mm, successfully averting tipping issues. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: 360*240*550 TAGS: - RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Conventional suitcases are limited to storage functionality, making it challenging to alleviate the inconvenience travellers face when commuting between public transportation stations and their residences or when senior citizens go to public parks or markets. To address this issue, this suitcase has been developed to integrate storage and mobility capabilities via a portable mobile power supply. This enables an elevated level of convenience and comfort for daily travel and journeys. CHALLENGE: The major challenge is the energy requirements during long-distance travel. The product has a high capacity portable power supply of 73.26WH. It enables it to support extended riding durations and accommodate two USB charging ports on the external surface of the case. These ports can charge various electronic devices while travelling. The lithium battery also has an LED display that accurately depicts the remaining power, providing a clear and intuitive indication of the battery life.
