INSPIRATION: The packaging for Greek Mythology Fragrances by Olive Spa evokes a sense of ancient wonder, drawing inspiration from statues of gods, nymphs, and heroes from ancient Greece. Each bottle features minimalist representations of Greek mythology, with intricate Dorian and Ionian elements. The overall design creates a visual narrative that seamlessly blends classical beauty with modern sophistication. The refined aesthetics invite consumers to explore the stories and exquisite aromas within.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The design team developed a contemporary brand identity for an international audience. This design features a clean typeface with phonetic guides for easy pronunciation. Fragrance names are rendered with phonetic symbols, enhancing accessibility for international tourists. This approach blends classical and contemporary elements, offering a unique visual identity and global appeal.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: This packaging becomes interactive by combining a classical aesthetic with phonetic descriptions, offering educational moments to tourists in Greece. The clean design invites engagement, while the phonetic symbols help visitors learn and pronounce the names of the Olympian gods correctly, creating a memorable and informative experience.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in September 2023 in Athens and finished in February 2024 in Athens.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The designs where created on Adobe Creative Suite (adobe photoshop & adobe illustrator). The labels' material is silver and and the perfume bottle is glass and metallic.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The design team focused on the fascination tourists have with Greek mythology. Aligning each fragrance with a specific god or goddess not only evokes curiosity but also creates a deeper emotional connection. The packaging is designed to offer an educational and engaging experience, enhancing its appeal. By incorporating phonetic symbols, tourists can easily connect with the mythological heritage of Greece, making it a meaningful keepsake to take back home.
CHALLENGE: Ancient Greek patterns are ubiquitous in tourist shops, often appearing clichéd. The design team had to reimagine these traditional elements to create a more premium and minimalistic version.The aim was to craft a sophisticated and authentic piece of Greek heritage. Many drafts were required until achieving this aesthetic while maintaining a contemporary appeal. Striking the right balance between classical inspiration and modern design required innovative thinking and attention to detail.
