| DESIGN NAME: High Priestess PRIMARY FUNCTION: Illustration INSPIRATION: The inspiration for this piece stems from the alla prima painting style and the utilization of modern digital tools. this work explores fantasy civilizations influenced by Turkish, Dagestani, and Armenian cultures. It blends history and fantasy, and reimagines a lost civilization within the digital realm. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This is a digital portrait Painting featuring a high priestess in a coined headdress, inspired by Turkish, Dagestani, and Armenian cultures. Merging mysticism and royalty, the painting invites viewers into ancient traditions. With meticulous detail and expressive brush strokes, it captures the priestess's power, urging viewers to unravel its layers of meaning. This artwork fuses diverse cultures, offering a glimpse into an imaginative realm. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: This project aims to create a new fantasy civilization by combining existing cultures through a fusion of imagination and diligent research from photos and paintings. By integrating diverse visual references, the design goal is to craft a unique and refreshing new culture. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: 1 month, April 2024, Los Angeles |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The painting process starts with preliminary sketches using pencil and paper, which are then transferred and painted digitally using Adobe Photoshop. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The original dimension is 3450*4465 px, 300dpi TAGS: Digital Painting, Digital Arts, Character Design, Fantasy, History RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Alongside the design process, research was conducted into different painting approaches and costume designs from various eras of the three cultures intended for fusion. This involved exploring diverse visual sources to improve the creation of the fantasy civilization. CHALLENGE: The primary challenge lies in balancing each culture and integrating the alla prima style with digital painting tools like Photoshop.
