| DESIGN NAME: Roma PRIMARY FUNCTION: Residential Garden INSPIRATION: Roma, a poignant masterpiece, etches a lasting memory in the hearts of its privileged visitors. Meticulously designed, it pays heartfelt tribute to Roma, a cherished family dog. This artistic endeavor, The Tale of Roma Garden, captures its essence and enduring connection to a realm weaving dreams, memories, and the continuum of past, present, and future. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Roma stands as a unique masterpiece since every aspect of this place is designed to pay a tribute to who was the beloved family dog. Every detail within the garden reflects Romas personality, the layout of the garden follows a pattern, arranged rocks define the exact positions of figurative points in a constellation, interwoven with the celestial ceiling. A wide array of artistic works, encompassing painting, literature, sculpture, performing arts, goldsmithing and agrobiology. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Engage with the surroundings by repurposing local stones for various points across the garden and the rocks surrounding the springs. This approach not only adds a natural touch but also fosters a sense of connection between the design and the environment, creating a harmonious and integrated outdoor space. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: 1 year in Zahara de los Atunes, Cadiz, Spain. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Domotics and integrated audio were used for home automation. There was a fabricated look a like stone, known as the philosophers stone, put in a strategical corner of the garden for the owner to open this stone and the garden to automatically lit up. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Garden surface 1070m2 House 110m2 Terrace 50m2 Attic 175m2 TAGS: Garden, Landscaping, Sculptures, Constellations, Spain RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Edaphoclimatic study covers rainfall, wind, and sandy soil. Water studies include phreatic levels, with a geobiological survey. Sociological study emphasizes families with kids, ensuring a family-friendly, secure environment with diverse resting spots and activities. Urbanistic study tailored for southern Spain considers native flora and low rainfall. CHALLENGE: Imagine sleek diagonal aluminum profiles illuminating the porch and parking pergola, extending the aesthetic to porch columns. The rooftop transforms into a captivating lookout with a landscaped upper deck. Integrate artistic expression with three sculptures. Elevate fence appeal using anthracite gray and teak slats adorned with luminaire accents, creating dynamic waves. Introduce voluminous planters at the entrance. Terraces come alive with thoughtful landscaping, harmonizing water elements. Achieve a native touch with mastic trees, flame trees, agaves, and bougainvilleas. Seamlessly blend a padel sports court, intertwining vegetation and bespoke furniture for a captivating outdoor experience.
