| DESIGN NAME: Elysian Eclipse PRIMARY FUNCTION: Limited Edition Package INSPIRATION: These items are elegantly presented in a bespoke, limited edition package. A sculptural homage to the Eclipse piano, that echoes its design language and uses the same high quality materials such as carbon fiber, aluminum, and high quality leather. Each set includes a designer signed plaque and offers the exclusive opportunity to order the Eclipse piano, completing a full circle Phygital journey. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Elysian Eclipse is the world's first high end Phygital piano collection. The physical centerpiece is the Eclipse hybrid piano. The digital experience offers 8 VR environments and a piano album by Grammy nominated pianist Vincent Lyn. EXXEO NFT owners receive a limited edition set sculpted to echo the piano’s design. It houses two vinyl records, two AR enhanced albums, and a designer signed plaque. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: This package contains two leather boxes on each side. Users could pull out each box using the leather handle that has the Elysian Eclipse logo embossed on it. inside each box, the user could find a 10 inch vinyl that has half of the album, a book that explores four locations inspired by the musician, a digital version of the album on a flash drive, and a membership card. there is a triangle plaque of the original eclipse piano inside each package too. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in Jun 2023 in the United States of America and finished in October 2023; this project has won the gold prize IDSA 2023 in the Luxury Package Design field. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: We have used carbon fiber for the outer shell and to create the internal division space of the boxes We have done the color of the outer shell using the technique of glossy paint similar to the color of pianos and manual finishing. The inner boxes are sewn and prepared with wood and natural leather and include two 10 inch vinyl printed and two catalogs with silver paper 1 mm thickness printed and bound as well the metal parts are made by aluminum turning and at the end rose gold plating was done for them. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Width 287 mm, Depth 346 mm, Height 506 mm TAGS: Luxury, Limited Edition, Immersive Experience, Package, Carbon Fiber, Vinyl, Piano RESEARCH ABSTRACT: We spend some time on the twisted surface in the middle to realize how it's possible to make. this complicated surface should cover the main structure that holds two boxes on the side together. The production of that surface in two pieces without any visible seam took most of our research time. CHALLENGE: One of the key elements that we faced at the beginning of this project was we decided to publish the album on vinyl for a limited edition package, and because of the song length and quality, we decided to put every 4 tracks on one vinyl. so the main element in the package is divided in two and we look for a solution to merge these two parts in a balanced and nice shape. Iman's first sketches show a twisted surface of triangles that connect to boxes and we know that part would be a tricky and most exciting part of this package.
