DESIGN NAME: Guijiu Zodiac Series
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Commemorative Liquor
INSPIRATION: The project draws inspiration from the classic ancient Chinese ceramic vessels with a double-ear structure, which have been developed and inherited over thousands of years in China. Combined with the Chinese dragon illustration in ink on the label, it expresses deep cultural heritage. While the intricate metal carving and simple crystal block body of the bottle create a new vitality for the product.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This product is a commemorative liquor for the Year of the Dragon by the Guijiu.
Inspired by the classic shape of ancient Chinese amphora vessels, the design incorporates the dragon as a decorative element in the label and the handle of the vessel. The Guijiu embodies nobility. 2024 coincides with the Chinese Year of the Dragon. The dragon holds supreme significance in Chinese culture, further emphasizing the rarity and prestige of the Guijiu.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: This design features a dragon-shaped component at the bottle cap that serves as the opening mechanism, while its elegant shape also enhances its aesthetic appeal.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in March 2023, was completed in November 2023 and is scheduled to be available in 2024.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: In China, most high-end liquors are stored in ceramic containers. This product uses a crystal material paired with a metal material to exude a luxurious and high-class feel, while standing out among similar products.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The height of the product is 240mm and the length and width are 110 mm.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: In the Chinese liquor market, Chinese Zodiac wine is a product that every brand competes to launch. However, most products are styled with figurative representations of the Chinese zodiac, and there is a lack of products that combine simplicity, sophistication, and heritage. This design fills the gap of high-end products of the same type.
CHALLENGE: The difficulty in realizing this project was that traditional Chinese sauce-flavor liquor brands tend to use ceramic material as the carrier of the product's cultural essence. The use of crystal glass broke away from the design approach of similar products, and the metal dragon-shaped part at the cap had a unique shape, requiring persuasion for clients to proceed with mold manufacturing.
