DESIGN NAME: Duoxuan
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Ice Cream Yogurt
INSPIRATION: The inspiration for Duoxuan stemmed from a deep understanding of China's Generation Z - a demographic known for their desire to have it all: health and deliciousness, individuality and identity. Observing their reluctance to settle for single-faceted products, we envisioned a product that breaks conventional rules and harmonizes contrasts. The concept of planetary collision in the universe, where distinct entities merge to form new celestial bodies, became our muse. This cosmic process mirrors the blending of yogurt and ice cream, creating a novel ice-cream yogurt fusion.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Duoxuan (Double Joy) stands as a groundbreaking fusion of yogurt and ice cream, specifically tailored for China's Generation Z. This innovative product marries the health benefits of yogurt with the rich taste of ice cream, encapsulating the ethos of 'one cup, two tastes, double joy'. The brand logo ingeniously melds the character "炫" with the letter 'J' from "Double Joy," symbolizing the fusion of opposites. On product level, the design draws inspiration from the cosmic phenomenon of planetary collisions, symbolizing the amalgamation of contrasting elements into a novel entity.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The product, a unique blend of yogurt and ice cream, requires no complex operation; it is ready to eat upon opening. The consumer immediately encounters the visually striking packaging, which sets the tone for the unique experience ahead. As one delves into the product, the blend of yogurt and ice cream provides a sensory journey - the smoothness of yogurt seamlessly transitions into the creamy richness of ice cream. This dual texture not only enhances the tasting experience but also caters to the health and indulgence desires of the consumer. The back of the package aids in this journey, where the depiction of planetary collisions intuitively guides the consumer through the flavor profile, making the choice of flavor both easy and engaging.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: Project starts in Dec, 2022 and launches in May, 2023.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The research focused on understanding Generation Z's preferences for products that align with their sense of individuality and identity. These insights were crucial in developing Duoxuan, an innovative fusion of yogurt and ice cream. This product directly caters to the generation's desire for dual benefits - health and taste - while also reflecting their unique character. Additionally, the choice of black as a primary color for Duoxuan's packaging is a distinctive strategy in China's dairy market, setting it apart from competitors and emphasizing its uniqueness.
CHALLENGE: Developing Duoxuan posed a significant challenge: the task of merging yogurt and ice cream into a single product that would appeal to the refined tastes of Generation Z. The creative complexity was in preserving the unique qualities of both yogurt and ice cream, while seamlessly blending them to offer a product that is both healthy and delicious. Additionally, incorporating black as the main color in the packaging presented its own set of challenges. This choice was unconventional in the dairy market, and it necessitated a thoughtful approach to ensure it appealed to the younger demographic without distancing the traditional consumer base. Balancing these elements was crucial in the successful creation of Duoxuan.
