DESIGN NAME: Renco Usa
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Building Material
INSPIRATION: The building industry has remained unchanged for over 100+ years. Structures have been constructed using only wood, concrete, or steel until now! Relying on a simple interlocking idea, previously untapped technological advances, and a fresh unabated approach, we persevered and have developed an alternative structural building system using composites to achieve superior strength, fire resistance, sustainability, economics, and speed over conventional building methods.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Introducing Renco, a state-of-the-art structural building system consisting of interlocking composite building units of various types and sizes of blocks, columns, beams, joists, headers, decking, connectors, etc. These products are all adhesively joined to form monolithic structures. The Renco Structural Building System has been tested, analyzed, and evaluated to ASTM standards for material and physical characteristics, structural performance, fire resistance, and environmental resistance.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Constructing a building with Renco is a straightforward process, requiring only the supplied materials and our proprietary adhesive. No heavy equipment is needed, and our chromatic installation plans simplify the construction sequence, making it easy for individuals to install with varying levels of skill and expertise.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: Renco has undergone 12 years of testing and evaluation in several ANSI certified laboratories to ASTM standards. After thorough evaluation, IAPMO-UES approved and published our Evaluation Report 508 permitting the use of Renco Structural Building System under the International Building Code and in Florida’s High Velocity Hurricane Zone. The Renco Structural Building System can currently be used in the design and construction of structures up to 5 stories in Seismic Design Categories A through D.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Renco products are manufactured with naturally occurring raw materials and newly composed materials from recycled products in an environmentally friendly manufacturing process. It is economical, easy to work with, fast to construct, has superior strength and requires no maintenance after construction. The ASTM has verified and listed our EPDs. Renco adhesives were analyzed to ensure compatibility, then tested under shear and tension loading conditions to identify ultimate and design strength.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Renco's proprietary MCFR weaves together recycled glass fibers, recycled plastic, resin, and stone into a composite that is more durable than concrete, extremely economical, and finishes in a fraction of the time. The Renco molded blocks interlock to create entire monolith structures. Renco residential blocks are 6in wide x 8in high and are available in lengths of 3in, 6in, 12in, and 30in. Our commercial blocks are 8in wide x 8in high and are available in lengths of 4in, 8in, 16in, and 32in.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Our materials were subjected to UV, freeze-thaw and creep conditioning at elevated temps and structurally tested under compression, tension, elongation and flexural loading conditions to determine ultimate and design strength. Our adhesives were tested under shear and tension loading conditions to identify ultimate and design strength. Renco floor and wall assemblies were subjected to compressive, tensile, in-plane shear, out-of-plane shear, racking shear and torsional loading conditions.

PATENTS/COPYRIGHTS: Renco has no composite competition in this enormous market space. Future competitors will endure an uphill trek pursuing and obtaining IBC approvals and will be faced with the insurmountable task of avoiding the violation of RENCO’s proprietary intellectual property rights afforded by its nine US patents.
