| DESIGN NAME: Lhov PRIMARY FUNCTION: Hob, Hood and Oven INSPIRATION: In modern homes, nothing is left to chance: every inch is used wisely, reflecting the style and personality of those who live there. The kitchen has taken on greater importance, an extension of the living room, a multifunctional space in which to prepare food, work and have social gatherings. Intelligent, efficient and functional solutions that, together with technology, help achieve the desired results, saving time and effort, are therefore highly appreciated. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Lhov is a hob, hood and oven in one appliance. This product was born from this desire and establishes a new category of household appliances. A true revolution that makes the best use of space in the home, a product that will reshape the cooking experience. Its name Lhov evokes three essential kitchen elements (Hob, Oven, Ventilation), but also the love that went into combining them into a single product, never seen before, beyond the dreams of the most demanding customer. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The Lhov's powerful extraction system automatically removes vapours and odours not only from the cooking surface, but also from the oven: both the air released from the upper edge during cooking and the steam explosion when the oven door is opened. The Lhov oven is wider than a standard oven and therefore offers a larger cooking area on one level, without the need for multiple shelves, resulting in more even cooking. The large oven space offers many advantages: large food can be cooked without having to divide it up. Finally, Lhov incorporates in the induction hob with 5 cooking zones two lateral suction zones. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in 2019 in Elica – Fabriano, the first prototype was made in 2020 and was exhibited in Salone del Mobile in June 2022. We will launch in May 2024. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: - SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: 900 mm x 565 mm x 360 mm TAGS: #Lhov #hob #hood #oven #aspiration #ventilation #single unit RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The design research began by investigating which advantages could be brought to the product to facilitate consumer use. The issues that emerged and were solved by integrating them into Lhov are: receiving support in the cooking process; ensuring odour-free air and steam during cooking; having the lowest possible energy consumption during use; ensuring the multi-functionality and versatility of the product; ensuring space optimisation and total integration in the kitchen; intuitive interaction with the display; and minimising cleaning and maintenance. All this was possible by making emotional involvement and pride the goal. CHALLENGE: Lhov consists of a single unit that maintains and enhances the linear appearance of the kitchen: no protruding corners, no interruptions, the suction system is cleverly concealed inside the appliance, while the oven, which is located under the hob, is at an ergonomic height, as well as leaving the space below free for additional storage.
