DESIGN NAME: Spirit of Stillness
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Apartment
INSPIRATION: The inspiration for this project came from Eastern philosophy, particularly the equanimity expressed in Su Shi's "Ding Feng Bo." The design aims to encapsulate a contemplative worldview by seamlessly integrating artistry with function. Traditional elements are merged with modern aesthetics, creating a dialogue between the past and present, realized through meticulous research and planning.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This interior design merges Eastern philosophy with modern sensibility to create a sanctuary of calm in an urban environment. Unlike other designs, it adheres to a tripartite philosophy called SPIRIT, which equally values work, recreation, and rest.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The design offers an intuitive user experience, effectively balancing form and function. Maximized natural light reduces the need for artificial illumination. Air-purifying green plants ensure a consistent flow of fresh air, thus improving the functionality of the space.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: This project commenced its design phase in March 2023 and concluded in August 2023. It is situated in Taipei City, Taiwan.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Selected materials include stone fragments for the primary wall to promote resource recycling and Italian eco-friendly paints for the art wall. Thermal insulating materials improve ventilation while hidden metal elements give support to the Bodhisattva sculpture. Throughout the production process, rigorous sustainability standards were followed to ensure environmental compatibility.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The design covers an area of 120 square meters and includes a specially crafted art wall that can support a 30 kilogram Bodhisattva sculpture. Energy efficient LED lighting systems are deployed along with thermal insulating materials to enhance ventilation.
