| DESIGN NAME: Unilever Istanbul PRIMARY FUNCTION: Office Design INSPIRATION: When Gaudi created his works, he drew inspiration from nature. Similarly, in the Unilever project, we aimed to evoke a sense of nature in the space, using natural and flowing forms abstractly.We incorporated the amorphous forms inspired by nature into the shell and fixed seating elements within the space. Additionally, we utilized these amorphous forms in the entrance of Unilever, where they welcome people and accentuate the brand identity. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Unilever Istanbul's innovative office design stands out for its commitment to inclusive and sustainable workspaces. With gender-neutral facilities, private pods, and well-being rooms, it fosters diversity and employee well-being. Biophilic elements, natural materials, and advanced lighting automation enhance productivity. This design's strength lies in creating a harmonious balance between functionality, comfort, and environmental responsibility, setting a new standard for modern workplaces. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The Unilever office project has been designed according to an open office system, allowing users to work flexibly anywhere and anytime they want, rather than dedicated desks. This has created flexible spaces for users and increased interaction among people. Additionally, sustainability and employee well-being were prioritized in the design, contributing to a healthier and more environmentally friendly workspace. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: In the Unilever office project, fire-resistant acoustic ceiling covering materials and materials suitable for sustainable design have been used. NAME: Yalın Tan + Partners PROFILE: Yalın Tan + Partners, a leading multidisciplinary design firm, collaborated with Unilever to embark on a transformative journey, reshaping the landscape of the Istanbul office space. This endeavor was not merely about creating a physical environment but rather about crafting an experience that would redefine the essence of work. At the heart of this project lay the principle of adaptability. Recognizing the ever-evolving nature of the modern workplace, especially in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, the team meticulously curated flexible layouts and spatial arrangements. These elements were designed to seamlessly accommodate the dynamic needs of employees, facilitating smooth transitions between remote and in-office work modes. Sustainability emerged as a cornerstone of the design philosophy. Guided by principles of environmental responsibility, the team integrated eco-friendly features and biophilic design elements throughout the workspace. From energy-efficient lighting systems to the strategic use of recycled materials, every aspect of the design was carefully considered to minimize environmental impact while fostering a healthier, more rejuvenating work environment. In parallel, cutting-edge technology was seamlessly woven into the fabric of the office space, serving as a catalyst for enhanced communication, collaboration, and productivity.
