| DESIGN NAME: Jelenew PRIMARY FUNCTION: Short Sleeve Jersey INSPIRATION: The jersey draws inspiration from aerodynamics. Air flows in parallel streams, resulting in drag on cyclists. Therefore, this product is designed to optimize the overall aerodynamics from fabric to cut. The striped texture of the fabric redirects parallel wind, creating air channels to minimize drag, while the 4D tailored fitted shoulder and neckline further decreases drag to greatly reduce physical exertion. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This functional cycling jersey specially designed for female cyclists strikes a balance between athletic performance and stylish design. Giving full consideration to aerodynamics, it adopts the technical fabric with aero stripes to dissipate air and create the optimal aerodynamic surface, so as to minimize drag. Ergonomic advanced customization techniques improve the fit of the garment to adapt to the female-specific physiology, and offer a comfortable wearing experience. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The ultralight fabric of 115g per square meter reduces the jersey to 125g to offer an agile experience. The breathable fabric facilitates perspiration to keep users fry and comfortable. Pro fit cutting technology used in key areas like the chest, waist and back ensures a perfect fit to muscles and provides proper compression to different muscle groups, alleviating muscle fatigue, lactic acid buildup and post-exercise discomfort. The reflective logo on the back safeguards cyclists in low light. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The design and development of this project started in Paris, France, in September 1st, 2023. It was introduced to the market in August 1st, 2023. |

Beyond the basics of comfort, breathability, and athletic performance, female cyclists place a greater emphasis on the aesthetic appeal of cycling jerseys. Therefore, integrating these expectations into design will be a pivotal strategy for cycling jersey brands to gain a competitive edge in the market. CHALLENGE: The challenge of the product design is how to strike a balance between stylish design and athletic performance. The design team innovatively used the technical fabric with aero stripes, and introduced advanced customization techniques to realize a good user experience and visual pleasure. The product reshapes the way female cyclists view professional cycling jerseys, inspiring more women to embrace the joy of cycling.
