| DESIGN NAME: Aquamerito PRIMARY FUNCTION: Toy INSPIRATION: They are inspired by the axolotls, endemic amphibians of Mexico. We want to make known the importance of conserving axolotls since they are in danger of extinction, with the aim of teaching kids the value of nature and animal life. These creatures become a member of each child's family and they will have to take care of them, love them and respect them. With this, Distroller (mexican toy brand) continues to support the development of positive family values while supporting fauna's protection. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This PVC toy comes inside an egg that dissolves in water. The character is a kind of axolotl. There are different types of them: changing color between the parts of the body, with glitter or with extremities that change color with cold water. Each one contains a pacifier, diaper, and surprise items inside. In addition, it has different accessories to implement the play pattern. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The child places the egg inside a container filled with water, then they must wait for the egg to dissolve to be able to discover the character and his extended play pattern accessories like pacifier and diaper. Then the child fills out the adoption papers and can go to one of our stores/clinics and take the baby to an extended medical evaluation. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The first edition of this product was launched in 2020 in Mexico. Later, two more editions were released, those were sold in Mexico, a few countries of LATAM and Spain. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Character figure made of rotomolded PVC with tampo-printed details. It contains several accessories made of injected plastic, fabric and soft touch vynil. A special mixture of water solluble plastic was used for the egg. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Egg size: 120 x 130 x 115 mm Packaging size: 230 x 205 x 125 mm TAGS: Toy, Nurturing toy, Wow factor, Unboxing, Water toy, Aquamerito RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Aquamerito/Aquanerli CHALLENGE: The most difficult challenge for the first edition was to achieve a good product, considering quality, play pattern and wow factor in a really tight budget and during the pandemic. The Design, Product development and Marketing teams worked really hard to make a successful release.
