| DESIGN NAME: Our Oceans Are Being Polluted PRIMARY FUNCTION: Book Design INSPIRATION: Taiwan, a land surrounded by sea, is now suffering from marine pollution due to inappropriate activities. Therefore, we collected information on marine pollution in various parts of Taiwan based on the 14th item of the SDGs, and adopted books as the medium, together with the use of mixed media, to express that the seemingly beautiful coast is in fact badly polluted, and thereby urge the public to prevent pollution. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Our Oceans Are Being Polluted is a series of books that delivers important information about marine pollution, featuring Fuzheng Beach, Chu-Shui Beach, and Qixingtan Beach. Through the use of translucent and other mixed media, the seemingly beautiful illustrations reveal the hidden dangers to the reader, thus achieving reflective and cautionary effects. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Our Oceans Are Being Polluted mainly uses translucent composite media, which not only achieves the effect of two-way reading, but also presents garbage pollution, green light pollution, etc. by stacking layers. Moreover, water pollution is presented through the method of pushing ink. In the space of water activities, we also add collage and sewing techniques to interact with readers.
