| DESIGN NAME: Trinity Collection PRIMARY FUNCTION: Home Fragrance INSPIRATION: The Trinity Collection inspired by ice, which represents the moment in eternity and the eternal moment. Moment and eternity are the constant topic of human beings. Life is too short, people always want to make the moment into eternity. In fact, every wonderful moment constitutes the eternity. Although touching moments are too short to stay, they could continually touch us in other way. Similarly, the trinity of ice, water and air could pictured the dynamic change of moment, memory and emotion. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: MATTENAI Fragrance intends to bring users back to the true nature, by reproducing the natural beauty with auditory, visual, olfactory and tactile arts. With essence extracted from natural plants, it integrates natural aesthetics into the fragrance, only to preserve a uniqueness in the ever-changing world, and to let the extraordinary taste and style become a classic heirloom. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The shape of bottle is inspired by a melting ice cube, which is a changing moment of the trinity in ice, water and water vapour. There are four type of fragrance: Muguet Shadow (Floral Note), Mandarin Sunshine (Citrus Aromatic), Bamboo Breeze (Fougere Aromatic) and Smoky Vetiver (Woody Note). These four type of fragrance illustrate four beautiful moment. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The bottle is handcraft double-layer glass. Four type of fragrance are original design. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Width 110mm x Depth 110mm x Height 210mm TAGS: fragrance, home diffuser, handcraft glass, home decoration, glass art RESEARCH ABSTRACT: After a complex market research about fragrance, I chose four kinds of note to develop and wrote down the brief of fragrance design and started to collaborate with perfumer. Trying to illustrate some different kinds of wonderful moment and by fragrance. Meanwhile, sketched the bottle shape which inspired by a melting ice cube. CHALLENGE: First of all, it is a big challenge to illustrate memorable scene by fragrance and resonate with lots people. It need both imaginary and intuition. During the realization, it is very difficult to make a smooth combination of the outside glass cover and the inside glass container. Because of manual welding or soldering, it is also difficult to make sure the perpendicularity of the inside glass container. There are many details and technical problems need to be solved such as bubbles in glass and parting line of the inner glass bottle.
