| DESIGN NAME: Wood PRIMARY FUNCTION: Table Lamp INSPIRATION: It has sought to design a product with the clear intention of being different from what was seen then in the lighting market. The inspiration was the classic designs of the 60s. The material was also key at the beginning of the project. Wood is a strong point of the brand and should be the protagonist. It seeks to always be at the leading edge of lighting. Setting trends in materials, finishes and colors. Prioritizing giving the customer a top quality product at an electrical and aesthetic level. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Decorative and spot lighting table lamp. From the beginning, it was imagined in wood with simple lines, a classic aesthetic, but with modern details. It is made entirely of solid wood and turned by hand, a detail that makes it unique, a material that transmits warmth and thanks to its nobility it has a distinguished quality and presentation. It stands out for breaking with the paradigm, the cable outlet at the top and its design is exclusive, with jute mesh and golden jute threads. Led spotlights that generate less electricity consumption and care for the environment due to its long useful life. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The Wood product is a table lamp made of wood, a noble material that provides decorative lighting. Its material and lighting accompanies, relaxes and creates climates in the environment. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The design was made in 2017 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Luminaire made with a manual wood turning. It is done in three parts, to avoid waste. Zoita wood was chosen, an easy wood to obtain in our country, semi hard, which has an excellent weight and quality ratio. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The Wood design comes in two sizes. The dimensions are the following: Mini Wood has a diameter of 150mm and a total height of 150mm Wood has a diameter of 280mm and a total height of 230mm TAGS: Design, Luminaire, Wood, Wood turning, Production, Argentinian Design, Industrial Design, Light, Lighting Design RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The current design is exactly as projected. Originally it was devised in a single piece, which was not possible due to the waste it proposed, and various types of wood have been tried until deciding which was the correct one. The product has a very complex shape to turn and that is why it took a long time to develop until it reached the final product. In 2019 the Mini Wood was launched, to complement it. CHALLENGE: The shape is too complex for anyone to want to produce. Intimidated. But it was such an innovative product that we managed to produce it, and it continues to be one of the brand's favorite products today.
