DESIGN NAME:
Motherly Love
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Ceramic Tableware
INSPIRATION:
The maternal love conveyed by the work, as well as the warmth and strength brought by a warm family, are combined with our daily use of tableware to convey the strong emotions of Chinese people towards "home"; The overall picture is brightly colored, with novel composition and combined with traditional Chinese cultural elements, hoping to promote traditional Chinese culture such as family culture, filial piety culture, and love culture.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The maternal love conveyed by mothers and children as design elements, as well as the blooming flowers and plants, reflect the warmth and power brought by a warm family to combine with our daily use of tableware.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION:
Completed the design in Jingdezhen, China in 2022.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION:
It is a ceramic tableware made of high white clay ceramics, combined with the "underglaze color" in the floral paper process. Each one is handmade and uniquely painted.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY:
It is hand-painted on ceramics, dried in the air, and fired at a high temperature of 1400 in a Jingdezhen kiln.

Small plate: Width 205mm x height 25mm

RESEARCH ABSTRACT:
This is a ceramic tableware that expresses Muqing's love for children, conveying the strong feelings of Chinese people towards "home"; The overall picture is brightly colored, with novel composition and combined with traditional Chinese cultural elements, hoping to promote traditional Chinese culture such as family culture, filial piety culture, and love culture.
CHALLENGE:
The color changes during the ceramic firing process are uncontrollable and can't be controlled. After more than 20 times of firing and color adjustment, we have presented a beautiful picture.

Jingdezhen Ceramic University is the only multidisciplinary university named after ceramics in China.
