| DESIGN NAME: Affinity PRIMARY FUNCTION: Ring INSPIRATION: This ring is designed in the shape of a flowing curve. In its design, black gold material is used, and rows of enamel with a spectrum of green color are placed on it in a curved and parallel way. The design of the Affinity ring is inspired by the design of the Heydar Aliyev Center in Baku, Azerbaijan, which is one of Zaha Hadid's designs. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The Affinity ring is designed in the shape of a flowing curve, which looks like a twist. On the surface of the ring, rows are repeated in a curved shape and in a parallel direction with a distance of 0.5 mm from each other, which have the material of black gold and enamel with a spectrum of green color, respectively. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: A ring for women that is easy to use. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: In Turkey in the year 2021 |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: 18k Black gold with Enamel. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Length 19.9mm, Width 33.2mm, Height 33.6mm TAGS: Jewelry, Jewellery, Gold, Black gold, Enamel, Green enamel, Ring RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The type of research is applied. Data collection and the research tool used is the library method and the study of documents. Objective is to implement the idea of modern ring design using material with a historical and artistic background. According to the results, enamel is a good option because gold and silver do not oxidize in combination with it. Also, it has antiquity, beauty and reasonable price which increase in demand will improve the business and economic prosperity of the society. CHALLENGE: The research challenge of this design is to decide on the number, size, and distance of the rows from each other so that they are curved and parallel, and the first and last rows have the same material.
