| DESIGN NAME: Utospace PRIMARY FUNCTION: Stainless Steel Candleholder Set INSPIRATION: The design idea of UTOPIA comes from the ideal country of Utopia and the Asian philosophy, the Analects of Confucius Zilu, both of which also represent a kind of spiritualism, harmonious integration and great unity. All the parts can be assembled or used separately and brings out the meaning of Harmony in Diversity. Different philosophies in the East and the West come from different sources but have similar meanings. Through the appearance and function of the product, we merge the meanings of the two philosophies and present them in one design. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: UTOSPACE is a functional set of stainless steel vase or candle holder made of SUS316 (SS 18/10). It can be used as vase or holder for candle pillars or sticks. There are 3 candle stick holders which can be removable and use individually. The base can also act as tray for separately used. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: This set can be used as tableware and home decors that are designed to be both aesthetically unique and highly functional. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in Nov 2022 in Hong Kong and finished in Feb 2023 in China. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Stainless Steel SUS316 is used for making the planter and candleholder set. Beside of traditional metalworking technique as pressing & stamping, CNC metal spinning is used to make the three candlestick holders. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: This set is made of stainless steel grade SUS316 (SS18/10) For the metal processing, stamping, pressing and CNC metal spinning are used to form the set. Dimension: Diameter 250 x Height 115mm. TAGS: stainlesssteel, candleholder, planter, tableware, houseware, RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Exploring various metalworking production techniques and mold design were crucial to the success of the production of this project. CHALLENGE: The creativity is totally beyond the production possibilities. The three candleholders for candlesticks are made by CNC metal spinning that are specifically designed to be assembled into the middlle-plate, so that all the parts can be assembled or used separately.
