| DESIGN NAME: Urban Pastoral Community PRIMARY FUNCTION: Affordable Rental Houses INSPIRATION: The project is based on the national strategy of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals in China, the life demands of "Shanghai drifters"(young people who come to Shanghai for work) and the urban background of the Shanghai's epidemic. The design analyzes the multiple problems faced by the project and responds one by one through the design, trying to create an urban pastoral community that is self-sufficient, neighborhood-rich, low carbon and energy regeneration. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The design meets the requirements of Shanghai's affordable rental housing construction, the background of the Shanghai's epidemic, and China's policies on carbon peaking and neutrality. Through a progressively layered enclosed building layout, with a ground-level rural living area as the core and a large area of vegetable planting coverage, and the use of low-carbon and environmentally friendly materials to create a self-sufficient, harmonious, and low-carbon community within the urban area. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The ground-level rural living area and commercial spaces are open to all citizens, but access is managed through separate entrances to prevent interference between external citizens and internal residents. The most direct perception of this community by people is that it is self-sufficient, ecologically harmonious, and has a strong neighborhood atmosphere, which can prevent the recurrence of vegetable grabbing incidents during the epidemic period in Shanghai. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in Shanghai in April 2022 and the design was completed in July 2022. Currently, it is in the preparation phase for construction. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: It uses solar photovoltaic panels, pedal alternator, self-generating electricity floor and self-luminous concrete as building materials to build renewable energy systems .The project's carbon reduction indicators meet the relevant requirements of the General Specification for Building Energy Conservation and Renewable Energy Utilization (GB55015-2021) and the electricity saving rate is 57.11%.
