| DESIGN NAME: Binary Digit of Daylight PRIMARY FUNCTION: Showroom INSPIRATION: After reached a consensus on issues of environmental protection, green, and carbon reduction, the exhibition mode is also established to use QR code as medium of info transmission. On the other hand, this space as a center of emotional connection between people, gatherings and visit, we tried the concept of Lounge Bridge for the floor plan to emphasize it. Integrate feature of the product, then design. Let the binary digital concept for QR code echoes with the natural element to respond our idea. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Break through the intrinsic image of machine manufacture and emphasize the original intention of connection between owner and visitor, with the meaning of Lounge Bridge, through the features of brand and products for owner, combine with the traditional artistry and emotion and deconstruct into the space. Remodel the logo into a magpie bridge as the image wall. With the flexibility and variability of daylight, combine the concept of binary digital programming, structure a binary cloister of daylight. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The space has been divided into several areas and galleries to offer different functions, such as exhibit, history gallery, classroom ,etc. Consider the accessibility and availability, integrate the concept of universal design, such as sliding doors, setting long door handles, and remove the threshold of each door. Furthermore, to make visit more convenience, display mode combine QR codes as a medium for info transmission. Visitor is able to gain info by smart device without carrying catalogs. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in Feb. 2022 in China and finished in Jul. 2022, and was exhibited from Aug. 2022 till now. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Divide the space into a house within a house by recycled cement board, with the daylight surface, space structure galleries, and reappear the Lounge Bridge.Set recyclable material's grilles in different angle, through the daylight’s duration, intensity and angle, structure a cloister change by nature’s digital programming.Combine features of logo and electric discharge machine with origami art, form logo into 3D by laser engraving, then stack to present a imaginary bridge as the image wall. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: South China tech center is located in Guangzhou, Songshan Lake's central business district, covering an area of 300 square meters, and the base condition has three light-facing surfaces. In order to maintain the feature of the space, we form it into a house within a house to Combine the idea of Lounge Bridge, and integrate the moving line to emerge the link of the space. CHALLENGE: Maintain environment, sustainable development, and reducing carbon, in the meantime, how to express a story in the interior to depict about culture, time, light, original environment etc. corresponding elements are our purpose for design. Make these fading cultural humanity not only a legacy, but echoes with the interior by a different view, and reborn with environmental protection as a kind of modern design.
