| DESIGN NAME: Cube Plant PRIMARY FUNCTION: Pot And Rack INSPIRATION: Cube 8 Limited was founded to reduce wastage in household product design. Our design philosophy for "Cube Plant" is based on 3 environmental goals - "function" UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: "Cube Plant" is a unique home gardening product from "Cube 8 Limited" that aims to reduce wastage caused by unsalable goods through its modular design. The product is made with durable and recyclable materials and features a natural black walnut wood body with matte black metal joints and an imitation cement pot, creating an elegant and natural look. The iconic design of the floating pot makes it a perfect match for any type of plant and enhances the taste of any home. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Cube Plants are the perfect addition to any plant lover's collection. Made with durable materials, flexible design, and recyclable components, Cube Plants offer the perfect balance of style and sustainability. Whether you're looking for a natural or modern aesthetic, Cube Plants come in a range of designs to fit any home. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: Founded cube 8 limited and made a preliminary concept of cube plant in early 2021, and carried out design work in the same year, began to make prototypes in early 2022, and launched the market in February 2023 after several rounds of revisions |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: We've carefully crafted "Cube Plant" with durability and aesthetics in mind. To achieve maximum durability, we opted for premium black walnut wood and reinforced the weakest points with sturdy metal. For a natural look, we chose a cement-like pot, but made it from eco-friendly recycled plastic to prevent cracking. While examining various household products, I observed that the mass production of fixed-style products often leads to the production of unsold goods, resulting in wastage. Therefore, I decided to break away from this traditional approach by adopting a modular design for our first product - Cube Plant. With this innovative design system, we can easily expand our product range and offer diverse styles, thus reducing the production of unsold goods and minimizing wastage.
