| DESIGN NAME: Beauty Of Collage PRIMARY FUNCTION: Residence INSPIRATION: The client loves the texture and effect of tiles, so the space is filled with different forms of tile collage techniques. In addition, according to the color and texture of the tiles, the designer took the industrial style and gray artistic coating to smoothly connect the colors. Finally, the various materials depict the contours of happiness for the family. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Tile with different characteristics: The project is based on different colors, textures, and shapes of tiles to create a unique atmosphere. The tiles are also blended into the wall of the dining room, the TV cabinet wall in the bedroom, and the vista of the walkway. A fireplace with emotional meaning: The client has been living abroad for a long time and wants a fireplace at home. To satisfy the client's request, the designer planned the fireplace where the family spends most of their time together and designed it with an inclined way to face the living room and dining room, which is a metaphor for embracing. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The project is a challenge to the designer's aesthetic sense and meticulous planning to show the client's favorite tiles in every corner. The designer brought the characteristics of each tile to the forefront, giving each tile a distinctive expression. The most important thing is that they are always with the client in daily life. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Building materials: tiles, artistic coating, iron parts, iron pipes, glass, etc. There are various kinds of tiles, including porcelain tiles, wood grain tiles, hexagonal tiles, vintage tiles, and cultural tiles. Each type of tile has different textures, smooth or rough, colorful or uniform. The designer took the concept of analogous building materials to connect each area with an artistic coating that presents vivid imagery that perfectly fits the tiles. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The site is a 15-year-old apartment on the 7th floor. Its total area is 105.7 square meters, with three bedrooms, a living room, a dining room, and two bathrooms. The original layout of the public area was narrow. The kitchen was closed and its opening was shifted, and there was a large beam on the living room ceiling. To solve the above disadvantages, the designer changed the position of the kitchen opening and removed the excess facade to enlarge the master bedroom bathroom. At the same time, the designer discarded the sofa to make the living room more flexible and to make the public space more comfortable. TAGS: Tile, blue and white porcelain, open plan, fireplace, neutral tone, industrial style. RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The designer took the industrial style as the base and the client's favorite tiles as the highlight. Artistic paints link the public and private areas, and their colors blend into each corner creating a lively atmosphere like an amusement park. The tiles are seen in every space, symbolizing sharing a happy life with family. While satisfying the storage, the designer added many ingenious ideas, such as the client's favorite fireplace, different tiles, and the spacious public area after changing the layout. The industrial minimalistic and the texture of the tiles give the space a more fascinating and refined look. CHALLENGE: The highlight of the project is the tiles, so the foundation work is particularly critical. The cement work is irreversible, so attention must always be paid during the process, as the fine integration of cement and tiles will affect the result. At the beginning of the planning, the beam in the living room ceiling was too short and too low, so the designer took an open plan for the public area as a solution.
