PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Private Clubhouse
INSPIRATION:
At the peak of its rapidly rising successes at the turn of the 1980s, New World Development established its headquarters at this very address of 18 Queen’s Road Central, which the group has called home for four decades and counting.
Just as Town Club aspires to be a place for you and your closest circles to go home and celebrate your daily wins.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Since 2016, Hong Kong Golf and Tennis Academy patrons have enjoyed unparalleled private getaways in the Sai Kung countryside, immersing in rest, relaxation and recreation for the whole family.
Now, Hong Kong urbanites eager for more from the HKGTA stamp of greatness can find it closer to home and discover the same promise of exclusivity, intimacy and unending surprises in the very beating heart of the city.

This project is cooperated by HKGTA and NWD
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION:
The project started in October 2021 in Hong Kong and finished in October 2022, and was opened in November 2022.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY:
Townclub inherited the unique Moroccan touch of its country
club yet extends its care about sustainability expressed in design and use of materials throughout the space. Shadows of the pedant light & wall scones in Gable roof juxtapose with the timber flooring (inspired by classic parquetry in Bordeaux pattern utilizing over 25,000 pieces of reclaimed wood) opens the exquisite journey of patrons. The bespoke chandelier in reception comprising 488 mini logs installed in in-situ by joiners celebrating the reflection of an "inverted forest" where mother nature provides clean air and natural nutrients for the body and soul.

The most important challenge is to design a clubhouse with a full specification kitchen in a high floor of historical commercial building.
