| DESIGN NAME: Bisole PRIMARY FUNCTION: Footwear INSPIRATION: In Japan, there is a long tradition of wearing slip-on sandals called "tsukkake." UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: They feature a minimalist design that does away with unnecessary decorative elements, and we have a wide variety of basic color options to choose from, so that everyone regardless of age or gender is sure to find a style of sandal that matches what they're looking for. EVA is used as the main material in pursuit of lightweight and soft comfort. The non-slip sole is made of rubber for enhanced grip. The insole is removable and washable, and it can be removed and washed in water for cleaner use. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: - PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: Product released in January 2023. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Foam molding with EVA material. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: length x width x height, 1 pair in a box 325mm x 235mm x 120mm TAGS: Footwear, sandals, Japanese sandals, EVA sandals, washable insoles, tsukkake RESEARCH ABSTRACT: - CHALLENGE: Foam molding with EVA material is difficult to make the body uniform in size. The most difficult part was that any error in the size of the body would result in the corresponding insole and outsole sizes not matching. Until we were satisfied with the results, we made fine adjustments to the foaming rate and realized the commercialization of the product.
