| DESIGN NAME: Longyin Shanfang PRIMARY FUNCTION: Catering Space INSPIRATION: Longyin Shanfang is a Chinese restaurant space themed on mountain forests in cities with natural beauty. Endowed with landscape, oriental feelings and quiet quality, it, with a contemporary design layout, is committed to restoring the elegant, poetic and healthy lifestyle of Oriental aesthetics and the unique flavor of Chinese cuisine for visitors who know life, taste and food in the city. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The Longyin Shanfang is designed based on the exploration of the philosophy of people and object, object and space, and space and people. The design team is dedicated to expressing the unique cultural spirit of landscape and Oriental aesthetics in the eight dimensions of path, pavilion, corridor, valley, hall, landscape and name, conveying the unique oriental elegance and aesthetics of the Chinese people. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The Longyin Shanfang carries artistic ideas, atmosphere and language, and incorporates the charm of art into the design of objects, dining rooms, places, and artistic conception. The design team creates the space through the deconstruction design of Chinese landscape painting, expresses the space through images of Chinese freehand paintings, reshapes the space through the concept of contemporary Oriental art, and builds the space with the logic of systematic brand positioning. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: This project was approved and initiated in Nanjing in June 2021 and completed in Nanjing, China in February 2022. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Based on nature, it is made of natural raw materials such as water, stone, soil, and bamboo, complemented by contemporary design and processing methods to restore simple sense of authenticity of nature to the greatest extent. This project adopts abstract artistic methods, such as holographic laser projection and video, to create changing landscape, making user feel like they are immersed in the landscape and blended with nature. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The work covers an area of 800 square meters. TAGS: Space design, Chinese restaurant space, contemporary Oriental aesthetics, landscape and cultural spirit, collision between city and nature RESEARCH ABSTRACT: In Chinese landscape culture, mountains have three distances, high distance, deep distance, and level distance, which symbolizes the inclusiveness, endlessness, and breadth of nature. The Longyin Shanfang adopts the three distances layout, building a layered landscape with trees, stones, forests, springs, mountains, clouds, and pavilions, confining the infinity of the nature into one space, and creating a multi-dimensional contemporary landscape space. CHALLENGE: The designer has the ability to transcend ordinary design and make a collision between the spirit of Oriental culture and contemporary art design, interpreting the cultural space of contemporary Oriental aesthetics with the cultural spirit of landscape, and showing a sense of art and mood in cities. And the design team blends the cultural spirit of landscape with the essence of Chinese food to create a new Chinese food brand in the context of Oriental aesthetics.
