| DESIGN NAME: Puzzle Learn PRIMARY FUNCTION: Workbook INSPIRATION: Puzzle Learn is a game-like study supplement that is inspired by cartoonish expressions to provide a fun and easy way to study students with consideration of their academic level. There are different levels of games in this elementary vocabulary study supplemented with fun characters and cartoon elements which added visual entertainment. This is to lessen the burden of studying for today's elementary school students who are so used to the smart devices UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Puzzle Learn is an elementary level Korean vocabulary study supplement developed by MiraeN that is consisted of 25 days of studying. The name is a combination of Puzzle and Learn to convey the message of having fun while studying complicated language as if it is like putting the puzzle together. It consists of various illustrations with simple explanations and fun puzzles to stimulate the students' interest and enhance their focus. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Four of the puzzle exploring characters were created to play and encourage the users to the completion of the study through their outgoing personalities. Contents such as ‘Check vocabularies with a simple puzzle’, ‘Use vocabularies in different puzzles’, ‘Solve the crossword puzzle’ containing various examples of the usage in elementary students’ life were inserted to help the students apply and use the words properly in their real life PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project was published on November 1st 2022 and it is still on sale throughout Korea on and offline bookstores |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Entertaining visual effects were provided to the users by implementing frames, speech balloons, half tones aggressively. Small frames were used to print the book to enhance the portability so that the students can study whenever and wherever and the main font was applied in the title and the main passage to go with the cartoon concept. Colors were harmoniously arranged centering around the three main colors SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The size of the main book is 258mm x 188mm x 7mm and the size of the mini book is 168mm x 129mm. The portability was enhanced by producing the mini book which can be studied whenever or wherever TAGS: Workbook, Cover, Education, Print, Design, Branding RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Puzzle Learn is a visual study supplement with the combination of a comic book and a workbook Rectangular images were produced with the motif that came from comic books to get rid of the boring layouts of traditional books and also to differentiate the product from others It is a visual study supplement with new concept that is focused on allowing the users not to feel bored by providing characters that change every page and different types of problems CHALLENGE: The concept was to allow the elementary school students to learn the basic knowledge easier and simpler starting with Korean grammar and it can play a role as a basic study book for math, English, science, social studies, and other various subjects It would be possible to be expanded to other series later ADDED DATE: 2023-02-13 09:44:25 TEAM MEMBERS (5) : MiraeN design team, Creative Director Hyunji Son, Brand Design Byoungsok kim, Jihee kim, Media Design Seyoung Hong and Character Design Bokyong Kim IMAGE CREDITS: Miraen Design Team, 2022. |
