| DESIGN NAME: M Cube PRIMARY FUNCTION: Pillow INSPIRATION: To obtain the benefits of medicine, material selection and biomechanical, this ergonomic neck-protection AB pillow for middle and high-end crowd features an innovative new materials and split structure with a support layer and a comfy layer to effectively support head, neck and shoulders. It ensures a pleasant touch in various sleep positions. Healthy and comfortable, this pillow offers users a sound sleep. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: On the one hand, the traditional function pillow design usually impairs the functionality of the perfect ergonomic structure using a single material. The split structure and new materials are expected to solve this industrial key problem, fully leveraging its structure and material selection. On the other hand, the support degree and pressure relief ability of pillows are the first considerations of consumers in terms of experience. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Its support layer provides lasting and effective support and protection of shoulders and neck with three different materials to meet the needs of different users. Its comfy layer provides users with comfortable and soft touch experience (Extremely low Shore hardness). In addition, the split structure and innovative materials make specialization and personalized customization possible. For improved comfort, the pillow height, curve and support can be tailored to body data and needs. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project was developed in Shanghai in August 2022 and will be launched in China in April 2023. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The support layer is made of 3D-printed Matrix material, improving the structure and dynamic stability when supporting the head and neck.. Meanwhile, the multi-fiber composite structure and high-hardness high-resilience foam used restore the support of 3D printed materials. With a staggered front-back height scheme and a prefabricated structure in the center, the comfy layer of biobased super soft foam can adapt to the stress distribution of sleeping positions, helping relax muscles. Pillow height, support degree and hardness become the key considerations. Among them, users aged from 26 to 35 in particular shows relatively more attention to cervical spine protection, and are willing to make more attempts and pay for it. CHALLENGE: The product features an innovative split structure with a support layer and a comfy layer. Based on anthropometric parameters, combined with human musculoskeletal system simulation model and AB pillow supine and lateral lying interaction of biomechanical performance evaluation index, according to the clinical test group sleep conditions and comfort evaluation, via personalized programming, the design team finally developed and designed the split structure of the support layer and comfort layer.
