| DESIGN NAME: Catom PRIMARY FUNCTION: Mutifuctional Cat Hair Comb INSPIRATION: Catom is a multifunctional cat brush that integrates a cat comb and a lint roller, designed to solve the cleaning problem of scattered cat hair for cat owners. This design combines the functions of a cat comb and a lint roller in an integrated form, providing a new design concept for pet hair removal products. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: "Catom" is a multifunctional cat brush that integrates a cat comb and a lint roller, designed to solve the cleaning problem of scattered cat hair for cat owners. This design combines the functions of a cat comb and a lint roller in an integrated form, providing a new design concept for pet hair removal products. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The top of the product is a cat hair comb, which can remove a lot of floating hair from the cat during the hair changing season, when using, you need to take it off, toggle the side switch to rotate the comb, the floating hair will remain at the bottom of the comb, then press the button at the top of the comb to remove the cat hair. The lower part of the product is a hair roller, which can remove the cat hair that is scattered and stuck. After use, the cat hair brush can be fixed on the main body of the roller with the snap at the end of the brush, so it can be hung when not in use. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in July 2022 in Yifeeling Design Studio and finished in February 2023 in 425 Design Studio in Nanchang University. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: For the comfort of the product, the product body is made of plastic with a skin-friendly frosted surface, and the tail sling is made of nylon. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: 200 mm x 40 mm x 70 mm.The upper part of the product cat hair comb grip designed with a raised snap, when the combination can be fixed with the internal hair roller, and in the tail designed with a snap further fixed to achieve the combination of the upper and lower parts of the product fixed TAGS: Pet Supplies,Cat hair Comb,Cat Hair Roller,2-in-1,Remova RESEARCH ABSTRACT: During the shedding season, pet cats will experience hair loss and require regular removal of loose hair. Through research on the process of pet owners cleaning their pets' loose hair, they usually use a shedding brush to remove the main loose hair, and then use a lint roller to remove any remaining cat hair on the cat's body. Therefore, cat owners often have both a cat comb and a lint roller, which are frequently used and complement each other, leading to the design of this product. CHALLENGE: The challenge started with the uncertainty of how to ensure the functionality of the product and its aesthetics at the same time. After a certain number of sketches, discussions and experiments with our project, we finally found the right choice to achieve the desired result.
