| DESIGN NAME: Small Mushroom PRIMARY FUNCTION: Repellent INSPIRATION: The product appearance is inspired by the small mushrooms silently growing in the corner of the forest. It can repel mosquitoes for users and add fun and warmth to their everyday life. Some electric mosquito repellents have a timer function by adding a circuit board. Small Mushroom Electric Mosquito Repellent goes a step further to include a one time timer and a loop timer as well as an ambient night light. No additional energy is required except for a few light beads. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This is a plug in electric mosquito repellent inspired by the shape of a small mushroom. Integrated with a nigh light and ornamental functions, it offers excellent mosquito repelling effect as well as illumination and an romantic atmosphere at night. The product is also equipped with a one time timer and a loop timer without consuming additional resource. Thanks to the function, the device can be presented according to needs of users and routine, bringing them an excellent use experience. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: With the one-time and loop timer function, the device can turn on automatically at specific time periods preset by the user. In the loop timer mode, the indicator light can glow and fade according to the breathing pattern of users, creating a dynamic rhythm to help with sleep. The light also offers soft illumination at night, bringing a sense of freedom and security to young, hard-working users who live alone, and prompting them to feel the emotional value provided by every detail of the product. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: ABS and PC are used as the main materials, and the production process includes injection molding, spraying, pad printing and so on. Thanks to a built-in thermostatic PTC heating unit and premium lumber from famous woodland Daxing’anling of China, the repellent enjoys smaller temperature fluctuations and more stability compared with similar products, which minimizes the impact on ingredient efficacy and helps avoid the generation of smoke and odor. Electric mosquito repellents offer a more scientific, convenient and safer way to deal with the problem and have gained much popularity since their creation. Considering the number of families in China, strong market prospects of such products are expected. CHALLENGE: The design of the product focuses on creating more use experience from details without adding resource consumption. To tackle problems such as inconvenience of use caused by a one-time timer design, the product adds two buttons to switch between the one-time/loop timers for mosquito repelling and the night light, making it easier to use especially in the nighttime. In addition, the product uses flame retardant materials and green liquid ingredients that are safe for babies to touch and breathe.
