| DESIGN NAME: Life Ark PRIMARY FUNCTION: Outdoor Seats INSPIRATION: The design team extracts the natural form of the leaves, which symbolizes green and life, and adopts human centered and nature-based bionic design. This aims to enhance the bonds between human, object and nature and promotes the concept of green life. At the same time, the function of the public seat is expanded to provide users with more functions. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This is an outdoor leaflike public seat. The beautiful and dynamic lines are exquisite and combined with the hollow design that highlights space, the product can be used in parks and scenic spots to provide decoration and leisure. At the same time, the reasonable integration of natural elements shows and promotes the concept of green life. In addition, the stainless-steel material effectively extends the service life of the product. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: 1. The leaf form helps users to better feel the charm and vitality of nature. 2. The design that fits the physiological curve of the human body brings visitors comfortable sitting. 3. 0 to 108 degrees of the backrest angle facilitates reading, office, and relaxation. 4. The grille design not only can effectively dredge water, but also contributes the better breathability and comfort. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project was designed and developed in Hangzhou in August 2021 and was listed in China in October 2022. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The team turned the clay and foam into a hard material mold in the initial stage, then divided it into small pieces and numbered them. In the middle stage, the stainless steel material was forged into small pieces on the mold by hand and finally welded into shape. Thanks to the grille design and metal and baking varnish processing technique, the product is more in line with the needs of urban furniture selection, and also avoids the potential excessive heat transfer of metal.
