| DESIGN NAME: Enjoyment of Life PRIMARY FUNCTION: Residential House INSPIRATION: When life enters the retirement stage, bid farewell to the busy workplace, and the accumulated wisdom and life experience often require a more stable and introverted living environment. The most important task of the designer is to integrate the personality and temperament of the occupants into the living space. This case is designed with calmness and modesty, and the details are thoughtfully conceived for the possible needs of the following decades. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: From the owner's and wife's living habits, the spatial circulation is re-planned and integrated into an open-plan living room, dining room, kitchen, master bedroom with dressing room and master bathroom, a second bedroom with bathroom, and a secondary bedroom. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The open public space is dominated by grey, white and dark brown colours. The areas that often need to be cleaned, such as the entrance and kitchen, are laid with white floor tiles. The dark brown wood veneer pattern of the entrance and dining room wall cabinets echoes the living room floor and storage display cabinet. The dark grey kitchen utensils in the kitchen are connected with the main stone-patterned TV wall in the living room and the light grey cloth sofa. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The entrance cabinet and the shoe stool are designed together, and independent lighting is set, which is easy to enter and exit, safe and secure. Floor tiles are used in the dust-fall area of the entrance, which is more convenient for maintenance and cleaning. The turning points of the wall cabinets in the entrance compartment and the walls of the open dining hall into the corridor are all trimmed with arc angles to minimize the probability of collision and injury caused by the moving line. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: 149m2 TAGS: Joy, Chih Yi ,Chen, Studio J. tw, Enjoyment of Life, Residential House RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The male host is generous and hospitable and sometimes needs to entertain relatives and friends. For this reason, the designer has set up a four-seater island bar in the kitchen, and the long dining table in the dining room can also accommodate six people. Coupled with the ample sofa seating in the living room, there is plenty of space for entertaining visitors. This house can perfectly integrate the owner's personality and preferences into the space design and interpret the calm and pragmatic temperament with an open space. CHALLENGE: Originally spanning between the guest and dining rooms and the cross beams running vertically through the kitchen and above the corridor, the ceiling and curved edges were treated with ingenious design. The lighting strips hidden in the ceiling from the dining room to the corridor are used to weaken the gap at the top space.
