| DESIGN NAME: Lux101 PRIMARY FUNCTION: Toddler Carrier INSPIRATION: We wanted to make a baby carrier that carries like a bag and allows a baby to sit on as he or she wants. This is because as babies grow, the amount of time they are held is shortened and the number of times they are held increases. We wanted to make a baby carrier with a stylish design that could hold and put down a baby as quickly as possible, while making it small in volume and widening a baby's view. It is the LUX101 side hip-seat that can satisfy all of these. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: A baby carrier that holds a baby sideways. It is named the side hip seat because it holds a baby sideways. It is designed to disperse a lot of weight on one shoulder. It is made of a light and soft material, a seat design that can prevent hip dysplasia, and a detachable bag that can be stored. The key to the baby carrier is an efficient shoulder pad for sitting a baby sideways and a seat structure for sitting a baby. The shoulder pad is ergonomically designed to minimize shoulder pain, and the baby seat minimizes pressure on a baby's thighs and features a foldable back pad. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The baby seat can be folded when not in use, and unfolded when in use to sit down a baby. We designed the baby seat to sit down a baby and the pad to support a baby's back like a chair when the seat is unfolded. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in Korea in January 2019 and was completed in Korea in October 2022. Sales started in October 2022 at www.luciroda.com. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The goal of our baby carrier is to be able to sit down a baby quickly when he or she wants. In order to sit down a baby quickly, the webbing that adjusts the length should be soft. To make the length adjustment webbing smooth, we made a soft but strong webbing through a conditioner and heating work on polyester material The mesh material used for the shoulder part uses a hexagonal structure with polyester material to have excellent weight distribution and strong durability. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: It can be used for babies from 5 months to 5 years of age, and can be used up to a maximum load of 20Kg. 50mm webbing. Anti-slip seat. 3D MESH back pad, triple safety buckle, safety hook TAGS: luciroda, toddler carrier, baby carrier, hipseat, side hip seat RESEARCH ABSTRACT: In order to make it easier to hold a baby, we collected data such as the shape of a baby's legs, the wearer's pain area, and the time and number of times to hold a baby. Through interviews with parents who actually bring up children, we set goals and looked for ways to solve them. Based on the collected data, we did dummy doll tests on hundreds of seat designs, and recruited participants to observe parents and babies, and completed the baby carrier design. CHALLENGE: Since a shoulder cushion should support a baby's weight only sidewards, it was difficult to choose a method and material to distribute the load on the shoulder. We solved the problem through the material method and ergonomic design of a shoulder cushion. In terms of a seat to sit down a baby, a baby's thigh is pressed depending on a baby's weight. And by making a baby's legs in the M position, a baby's hip dysplasia should be prevented. We put a lot of time and effort into the seat material and the seat design to satisfy this.
