| DESIGN NAME: Mew Gic PRIMARY FUNCTION: Cat Furniture INSPIRATION: Inspired by building blocks, we hope to realize infinite forms of furniture products through one component, so that users can experience the fun of DIY and create a paradise for cats. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Adhere to the brand concept of "Because care, we share." to create a new way of pet home furnishing. Mew-gic is a DIY nail-free installation of infinitely extending pet furniture, designed to start a magical journey with a square board and a sisal column. Between the square plate and the square plate, the mortise and tenon joint can be used for quick connection. Every board is the same, allowing customers to experience the process from 1 to infinity. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: When a single plate is used, it can be installed on the wall, and the circular plate in the middle can be rotated as a storage platform; multiple plates can be assembled into any shape of cat house through plastic tenon-and-mortise joints, which can be placed on the ground or combined. Create a playground for cats on the wall. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in Shenzhen in January 2021 and completed in Shenzhen in August 2021. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Mew gic is made of natural environmental protection material - bamboo lamella, the panel is processed by CNC, and uses the principle of rotating buckle to realize three different shapes of the middle circular plate (cat channel, cat jumping platform, sealing plate), and the connection of the plates is made of matching plastics Tenon and tenon joints are used for connection. When the product is damaged, the user can send the damaged parts to the mall to replace with new parts. The sustainable product design avoids waste of resources and environmental pollution. The quality of products in the pet furniture market is uneven, and new insights into the physical and psychological needs of pets are lacking; traditional cat climbing frames have pain points such as large size, inconsistent with the home style, and difficult materials to clean up, so the development of human-pet harmony is based on pets. Life scenario-based design needs have become an important direction to meet the more diverse needs of customers. CHALLENGE: The biggest challenge is the realization of the structure and the arbitrary combination of a single plate like a building block. We spent a lot of time on the calculation of the circular plate rotating structure. In addition, the mortise and tenon joints have also been tested repeatedly.
