| DESIGN NAME: Daphne PRIMARY FUNCTION: Brooch and Pendant INSPIRATION: Design inspiration came from the love story, Daphne turned into a laurel tree, expressing beauty and faith in herself. One of the design elements is a laurel leaf, set with diamonds, which whirl around the center stone, just like the moment when Daphne turns into a laurel tree. When it comes to love, it is naturally associated with the moon in China. Moon has been a symbol of love since ancient times, so another design element is the moon. They were integrated to create this piece of jewelry. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This multifunctional piece of jewelry can be a brooch or a pendant. The center stone is a 10.745ct natural rupee red tourmaline from Brazil, set in 18K white gold with diamonds and mother-of-pearl. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Made of 18K white gold, set with 10.745ct natural rupee red tourmaline, diamond, and mother of pearl. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: 34.10mm x 35.10mm x 11.03mm TAGS: Daphne Brooch, pendant, Brooch, Fine Jewelry, Tourmaline RESEARCH ABSTRACT: This piece of jewelry expresses the theme of beauty and faith through the love story of Daphne, the Laurel Nymph of Greek mythology. Because it is not well known in China, it is necessary to present the story in a suitable way to make this design understandable to Chinese audiences. So I chose laurel leaves, which come from the story. I also decided on a moon element, considered a symbol of love in China, to integrate both elements to create this piece of jewelry.
