| DESIGN NAME: Risefit PRIMARY FUNCTION: Outdoor Fitness INSPIRATION: The demand to train outdoors was the main inspiration. Adding to the demand, the team tried to play with some emotional concepts like feeling strong, able to keep going, and energetic, and, amenities to keep people working out more. Another motivation point was attracting people to come to the station regularly and making them feel like they are actually in a gym environment. Creating open-air workout sessions for individuals knowing that in the pandemic, they would tend to isolate themselves. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Risefit is an outdoor fitness series with strong and bold properties. It displays and provides what indoor gym equipment can and allows even more. Risefit outdoor fitness equipment is designed and constructed with a fresh angle and, aimed to give out a strong and energetic feeling. It is built to match demanding physical training goals with consideration of fitness level or ability. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Risefit is designed to focus on cross-training and calisthenics. Suitable for high-intensity interval training (HIIT), core workout, and strengthening. In some stations, there are boxing, kettlebell, and rope climbing options, and other stations are only suitable for bodyweight training. Every workout model has a small explanation plate that has interface graphics that show how people can exercise with the product. It benefits from low and controlled vandalism. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started at the beginning of June 2022. The design was finished at the beginning of September 2022. In 2022 the production of molding and manufacturing fixtures will be ready. At the beginning of 2023, it is planned to start mass production. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The design started with ideation sketches for the outer shell and went on with research for the stations. Bend steel pipes are preferred for this design which is pieced together with a metal die-cast X module and Y module. For some stations that require handles, plastic injection molded parts are used. For easy assembly on the field and oven dying process in mind, the steel structure is designed with a modular system. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Risefit 1 : 2250mm x 4830mm x 2545 - Risefit 2 : 1655mm x 4950mm x 3500mm - Risefit 3 : 3110mm x 7560mm x 2545mm - Risefit 4 : 1890mm x 7560mm x 2545mm - Risefit 5 : 7040mm x 7500mm x 2545mm TAGS: Fitness, Outdoor, Cross-fit, Calisthenics, HIIT RESEARCH ABSTRACT: After a certain amount of research dedicated to indoor fitness, calisthenics, and outdoor fitness user habits and needs, the design team establish the essential equipment. This decision included interaction with a certain amount of people as well as some experienced fitness coaches. Our purpose is to meet the needs of people who are working out constantly and periodically while establishing the modernity of a gym environment with the product’s form and style. CHALLENGE: The hardest part was the decision on outer designs and how the fitness stations and all the installations would fit together. In the end, the team achieved it by creating an X module. With this X module, we could give the desired effect and create an easy assembly when produced. When we think letter X as a form, we noticed that it has a habit of bringing together two sides and building a flow while gathering the movement.
