| DESIGN NAME: Fujita Urban PRIMARY FUNCTION: Electric Bike INSPIRATION: Fujita has founded its own corporate identity on green mobility, particularly on electric bikes. This is the on-going mission of the company towards a greener business whilst pursuing top level in design and quality. The combination of these purposes can be perfectly expressed with the Fujita Urban: elegance, sustainability, minimalism, lightweight, simplicity, efficiency. This electric bike is inspired by and created for moving around the city in an environment-friendly way while being chic. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The Fujita Urban is a unique electric bike which combines design and style with the knowledge of Fujita in the electric mobility world. This electric bike allows a speed moving around the city whilst keeping its essentiality and efficiency. It may seem just a refined and elegant bike at first glance, but the slim tube hides inside a lithium battery, allowing the rider to speed through city traffic with elegancy and dynamism. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The Fujita Urban is an electric bike characterized by elegant style, linear frame and slim tubes, designed for handling the daily rides in the city. It is easy for the user to move around the traffic on the saddle of the bike thanks to the big wheels and the ultra-light frame. Thanks to the fully integrated battery, the rider feels like riding a traditional bike whilst benefitting of the pedal assistance and feeling safer against theft as the battery is totally hidden inside the central tube. In few hours the Fujita Urban will be fully charged and ready for the next journey. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in Milano (Italy) in April 2022. The product was display at IFA fair in Berlin (September 2022) and at CES Show in Las Vegas (January 2023). It is going to be distributed in the major countries all over the world. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The Fujita Urban was designed with the focus of reaching high levels of design and aesthetics through linear frame whilst keeping the pedal assistance and the environment-friendly aim. Thanks to the fully integrated battery, the thick tubes remind to a traditional bike, providing an aesthetics plus to the vehicle. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The dimensions of the electric bike are 178 cm (L) x 65cm (W) x 115cm (H). The maximum tolerable loading weight of the final user is 100 Kg. The Aluminum 6061 frame and the slim tubes make the bike ultra-light and aerodynamic in the traffic, along with the ease for the user to move freely the vehicle. The fully integrated battery improves the aesthetics of the bike and increases the protection of the battery from theft. Comparing with classic bike chain, the belt drive requires less maintenance, lasts longer, is quieter, lighter, more modern and high-end. Indeed, the aim is to combine a detailed design with the green technology to create a product not only of great style but also of easy handling. CHALLENGE: The creative challenge of the Fujita Urban project was firstly to develop an electric bike which at first sight appears as a traditional bike whilst hiding a lithium battery inside the main tube. Secondly, the challenge was to convey to the final user its high-quality by highlighting the elegant frame through a modern design and a linear geometry. This project aims to increase e-bikes daily uses also around the traffic of the city, while improving its elegance as a means of high design.
