| DESIGN NAME: Laodikeia and Its Symbols PRIMARY FUNCTION: Coating Surfaces INSPIRATION: The first traces of art was seen on these lands , inspired by it, blending it with our own nature. what was brought to this day; hosting the most beautiful examples of historical texture and design dating back to Laodikeia. Those who combine their arts by blending the texture of the ancient city with their spirits. His works to the present day were brougt by this collection. Traces of each line and module from the ancient Laodikeia city was designed by redefining it. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: In the designs, sometimes the walls of Laodikeia, sometimes the spirit of the streets of time are felt. You may roam freely in Laodikeia ancient city in this collection; allowing you to create spaces that will make you feel that you are in Laodikeia ancient city. The unique and unique combination of the harmony of the patterns with each other in modules gives endless options and variations. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: By choosing the modules you want with Laodikeia Symbols; it is possible to design whatever you want like jigsaw puzzle. You can create your own design using the modules you want , in this collection. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: In December 2021 in Denizli and İstanbul, module designs for the collection began to be made. At the end of a 3 month design process, the modules were completed. The collection was introduced at the Izmir Marble Fair on March 30, 2022. A launch presentation was held at the Space event at Zorlu AVM on May 10-11, 2022. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Natural stone slabs were cut into module dimensions on high precise 5 axis CNC, after pattern carved on 3 axis CNCs and finally carved natural stone was polished by skillful stone artisans. Both high technology machinery and handwork is used during production. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Collection is consisted of natural stone relieves which were inspired from 3.000 years old Laodikeia Ancient City . Dimensions of the modules are mainly 60 x 120 cm but there are 60 x 60 cm and 30 x 60 cm modules as well. Products are put into cartoon boxes and boxes are put into wooden crates. TAGS: traces of art , marble , surface , unique , patterns RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The book written by Celal Simsek , Laodikeia and Lycum was reviewed , many field trips were made to ancient Laodikeia City to observe the patterns and soul of the ancient city.Inspired by the patterns of the excavations found. CHALLENGE: Reinterpretting patterns and designs used 3.000 years ago and producing the collection using natural stone by combining both high technology CNC machines and handwork of stone artisans. Selecting right natural stones which would match the spirit of ancient city.
