PRIMARY FUNCTION: Office Chair
INSPIRATION: Rhythm is the unchanging law of design aesthetics. The gradual hollow shape of the chair back comes from the rhythm and changes of the piano keys and the staff, which organically combines the smooth shape of the lines with the sense of rhythm, and can well adapt to the complex working posture of the human body.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This is a special office chair. Its special thing is that it abandoned the traditional mesh form and replaced it with deformation soft chair back. It combines TPU and nylon materials to give this seat more flexibility. The combination of soft chair back and swing function can better adapt to dynamic changes in the back during the office process, and provide users with a unique experience.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: When the user tilted left or right, the back of the chair will follow the human body's tilt. Users can achieve the lifting of the handrail through the buttons under the handrail. The back of the chair can be dumped backwards, and the switch of the chassis can be locked. The cushion of the chair can slide back and back, and adjust according to the user's habits.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in June 2020 and was officially launched in June 2022. It was developed for two years

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Through the study of people's work and sitting posture, long -term desk work will make people feel stiff. The conventional chair back cannot soothe the back because of insufficient deformation. Studies have found that soft, deformable chair backs are more helpful for the relaxation of the human body.
The experiment was captured by 3D simulation and thermal imaging, and multiple tests were performed on different users. Several important support points on the back of the human body were statistical, and the curve of the back of the chair was adjusted to better fit the spine.
CHALLENGE: In order to realize the possibility of the back deformed of the chair, when designing it, many materials were tested, and did not meet the expectations. Finally, the TPU material was selected to ensure that the back of the chair can be deformed according to the back curve of the human body.
