| DESIGN NAME: Voca PRIMARY FUNCTION: Reception Robot INSPIRATION: The L shaped standing sign is featured by the minimum space occupancy and the maximum stability among its class made with the equal number of consumables, which is taken as the basic shape of Voca. It is further designed with sleek rounded corners to please users with a sense of affinity and aestheticfeeling, thus showing a gentle human touch during reception. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: As a lightweight robot designed for smart unmanned reception, Voca is able to conduct voice interaction with visitors in multiple scenarios by means of the natural language processing, thereby providing an intelligent unmanned solution for reception, consultation and many other services in the commercial places such as hotels, exhibition halls and office buildings. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: To boost environmentaladaptab PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The design and development of Voca started in Shenzhen, China, in July 2021. It was introduced to Shenzhen market in China, in August 2022. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The main body of Voca is made of the composite of PC and ABS, which performs optimally in strength, heat resistance and flexibility. To minimize its weight, Voca has experienced optimization in the base and whole structure, so that the compact L shaped body achieves the structural integrity and the maximum interior space utilization. To transport various small objects, it comes with modular storage components at the back which allow for free customization according to varying usage scenarios. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: 430*450*1100mm TAGS: Smart Reception Robot, Lightweight Body, Natural Language Processing, Dual Display Screens, Humanized Interaction RESEARCH ABSTRACT: With the development of artificial intelligence industry, voice-interactive service robots have been gradually applied into various commercial spaces in the Chinese market. Statistics show that the scale of Chinese service robot market had exceeded 30 billion yuan by 2021. Additionally, against the backdrop of regular pandemic prevention and control, replacing human labour with robots for contactless reception can effectively protects people from the risk of infection caused by close contact. CHALLENGE: In terms of the design and development of Voca, the major challenge lies in how to improve its capability of intelligent interaction. By virtue of the natural language processing developed based on massive real life dialogues in various contexts, VOCA obtains the simulation capability of intelligent interaction to response the voice commands given by visitors in multiple scenarios as well as performing voice and touch interaction, thus meeting the needs of welcoming, reception and consultation.
