DESIGN NAME: Remoltra Remote Ultrasound System
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Telemedicine Device
INSPIRATION: Chaos that happened in the world has made the world unsafe where people in serious needs of professional medical test and diagnosis, specially the aged and the disabled, are facing greater difficulties going out to the hospital. Or for a remote place where a doctor can't visit and provide on-site medical help. But they still need care and can't be forgotten.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Remoltra color doppler ultrasound diagnostic system is meant to solve the problem when the aged and the disabled can not go to the hospital and the doctor can not visit home, by sending a domestic testing device to the patient's home. Through IoT technology, the doctor can operate the imaging device in the hospital to real-time control the probe on the home device that covers the patient, to conduct a professional test and make precise diagnosis.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: By online booking, the home device is sent to the patient's home. The patient needs to lie down the put the home device to cover the upper torso while the doctor in the hospital boots up the imaging device and connect the home device. Then with the touch screen showing the position of the probe, the doctor handholds the force feedback pen and move do different positions while the robotic arm does the same and transmit the skin resistence data back to the pen to let the doctor feel the force.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: This project started in 2022 March in Changsha and Qinhuangdao, China, and the technology inside is still developing. It needs famous design award to prove that it needs more resources to make this design real

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Color doppler ultrasound imaging technolgy is used to make diagnosis. IoT technology is used to connect the home device and the imaging device in the hospital. Force feedback technology is to let the doctor feel real resistence that probe on the home device sences to know when to stop pressing the patient's skin.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Special group of people like the aged or the disabled,are in serious needs of professional medical test and diagnosis done at their home. Therefore a series of research was conduct, investigating how they behave at home, and how the doctor usually conduct an ultrasonid diagnosis in the hospital. Then, all the ultrasond testing solution available on the market were searched and compared to find their dropbacks and advantages to solve the problem. After all those research, an concept of a testing system consists of two devices was come up with its unique service design and diagnostic process.
CHALLENGE: The chanllange of this project is the real-time force feedback system. When the force-feedback pen on the imaging device is being operated, the prode on the home device, which is far away in the patient's home should better respond as quick as possible to minimize the delay. Through IoT technology it's possible to make real but the less delay, the better experience the patient would have.
