| DESIGN NAME: Magic PRIMARY FUNCTION: Growth Chair INSPIRATION: This design takes inspiration from the classic cantilever chair. The distortion freealuminum leg base is combined with solid construction, featuring the low center of gravity, large support surface, excellent stability. Thereby, it can support children and provide comfort. The double layered tray design separates the meal and entertainment areas to ensure the hygiene at mealtimes and help children develop the zoning awareness of dining and entertainment. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Magic Growth Chair, a dining chair accompanying the growth of children, allows for the use from birth, toddler, and through adulthood. For its suction area using NanoFix, the unique function means that the bowls and plates can be stayed in place to prevent being tipped and avoid messy mealtimes caused by boisterous actions of children. The one handed magnetic tray can be connected and removed effortlessly, which not only keeps children safe and comfortable, but also adds ease to parenting life. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The one handed magnetic tray can be connected effortlessly and precisely in one second without tedious alignment steps. With the tray and footplates adjustable in both depth and height, it allows for the use from birth, toddler, and through adulthood. Featured by the flexible adjustment with four levels, Magic Growth Chair enables children of different heights to enjoy mealtimes together with family members, making the company time a precious memory for them. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: Magic Growth Chair research and development was launched in January, 2021 in Hangzhou, China, and the product was on the market in June, 2022. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The double layered tray is made of high quality PP material, BPA, PVC and DEHP free. It is antibacterial and easy to clean for quick spills. Its suction area utilizes NanoFix, and the unique functionality means that the bowls and plates can be stayed in place to prevent being tipped, thereby avoiding inevitable messes at mealtimes caused by boisterous actions of children. This is still highly functional when used repeatedly for over 10,000 times. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: 850*480*680mm TAGS: Growth Chair,One handed magnetic tray attachment, NanoFix suction area,Double layered tray with the independent meal and entertainment areas RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Parents are troubled with messes at mealtimes due to the boisterous nature of children, especially the frequent tipping of bowls and plates. Besides, the long term survey of similar products shows that tedious steps are required to install or remove the tray. To solve these problems, this product uses a one handed magnetic tray attachment, an insert easy to clean and a tray which prevents tipping bowls and plates, to keep children safe and comfortable at mealtimes, and to bring ease to parents. CHALLENGE: The design team gave top priority to creating a suction area on the tray where plates and bowls of various materials could be stayed in place. To overcome this challenge, they researched on various materials with different adsorption, and applied a nanoscale adsorption material NanoFix in making the suction area of the tray. This innovative functionality can keep plates and bowls stayed in place to prevent being tipped, thus avoiding messes at mealtimes caused by boisterous actions of children.
