| DESIGN NAME: Dawushan PRIMARY FUNCTION: Immersive Exhitbition INSPIRATION: Northern Dawushan is the major element of this exhibition, providing to the public a wonderful journey of the five senses with digital technology, including Immersive mapping show, mimicking of Scent Forest, 3D Hologram animals valley , songs and melody from Taiwan indigenous people, simulation of the low temperature at Dawushan peak, and rounded shadow theatre to show the four seasons beauty . UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The topic of the exhibition is named after the mountain "Dawushan" that lands on Pingtung County in Taiwan, and the content also followed the theme. N22˚37˚37.5˚ E120˚45˚47.0˚ is the coordinates of the top of the mountain on the map. In the early half of 2022, the epidemic situation in Taiwan was well controlled. Therefore, the exhibition attracted many visitors, more than 100,000 visitors in the passed three months. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: This exhibition is curated with the "climbing experience" as the curatorial story axis. The audience is invited to experience the process of climbing halfway up the mountainside from the bottom of Dawushan, then passing through the peak of mountain, and down the mountain and looking back at the ridge-line of Dawushan around Pintung county. Northern Dawushan is the major element of this exhibition, providing to the public a wonderful journey of the five senses with digital technology, including Immersive mapping show, mimicking of Scent Forest, 3D Hologram animals valley , songs and melody from Taiwan indigenous people, simulation of the low temperature at Dawushan peak, and rounded shadow theatre to show the four seasons beauty . In Pingtung County, the southern tip of Taiwan, this experiential exhibition is developed using immersive technology and artistic creativity, creating a museum-like space for the audience that combines aesthetics and impressionistic visual experience. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The exhibition opened on February 25, 2022, and will keep on display until August 31. This show is exhibited in the newest and largest immersive exhibition space (1,300 square meters, total 2 floors) in Pingtung County, southern Taiwan. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: 360 degree immersive mapping 2D animation production HYPERVSN 3D Integrated Holographic System from England Light sculpture show SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: This show is exhibited in the newest and largest immersive exhibition space (1,300 square meters, total 2 floors) in Pingtung County, southern Taiwan. TAGS: DAWUSHAN, immersive, exhibition, taiwan RESEARCH ABSTRACT: In the past 20 years, "Climbing Dawushan" has become a very representative ceremony for local youths in Pingtung. The climbing process is not only for exercising body and mind, watching the stunning sea of clouds and magnificent mountain scenery, but also for learning how to maintain the diversity of life and recognize the rich culture and terroir that it has nurtured. In order to make the audience feel more immersive and real, the production team specially dispatched a photography team to climb the peak of the 3092m mountain(DAWUSHAN) and take 4K HD footage of the mountain scenery, so that the audience can watch the mountain tops that are usually difficult to reach at close view. CHALLENGE: It is the first immersive exhibition work developed and produced 100% by domestic team, and based on iconic mountain nature and scenery in Taiwan In general, immersive exhibitions emphasize visual fantasy or only focus on shocking visual experience. However, in order to highlight the unique natural ecology, flora and fauna of Dawushan, the production team specifically used various immersion tools to present the unique animal ecology, natural environment features and cultural characteristics of Dawushan. Between the real and the fantasy, the team spent a lot of time finding a balance. And finally find harmony in the rhythm in the visit tour.
