PRIMARY FUNCTION: Lounge
INSPIRATION: The brief is a realization of the idea Design Lounge instead of a typical design firm. This concept does not only apply to the physical setting for enriching client experience, but also aim at creating an engaging workspace with a causal vibe for the employees. The ultimate goal is to visualize design director motto - Enjoy Your Design Life.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Envisioned the brand new office space for a design firm should be versatile and dynamic, instead of being too commercial. Offering memorable experience and leaving room for client imagination is essential. Thus, the designer has curated a design lounge by adding a kitchen cabinet and bar area, pairing with the audio and smart system to create a comfy, capacious space.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The living is a multi purpose area for events or meetings, and the conference room with glazed dividing sliding doors can be converted to a restaurant or opening up when necessary, offering a more spacious space. Guests can enjoy the cooking demonstration, as well as the food and wine prepared by our chef. In addition, the firm features a wine and cigar room.
The entire interior has been thoughtfully curated with the goal of creating a stimulating and friendly environment, thus lending to a stress free workplace for the employees.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in March 2019 and finished in October 2019 in Hong Kong.
Located at the commercial district - Kowloon Bay in Hong Kong, this is a project for the design firm with approximately 350 sqm.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The design lounge is also a vast welcoming area to greet the visitors, and more importantly, to create memorable and delightful experience to the potential clients. The ultimate goal is the visualization of Enjoy Your Design Life, the motto that design director has taken to heart. To achieve this, the living zone features a multi purpose area for meetings, event space and private dining area is undeniably the focal point for this project.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Key to the color scheme is the introduction of walnut and dark palette, complemented with ambience lighting for a comfy workspace. The statement making white marble bar table is highly contrast with the Italy imported kitchen cabinet, but still being cohesive as an overall experience. Though a darker palette is applied, one can freely change the hues by selecting different lighting arrangements.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The design director Mr Danny Chiu was 40 years of age when he decided to move into the brand new office space. As such, the designer wanted to apply his philosophy to the brand new workspace.
For this project, they preferred the layout to be classified into three areas, including a design lounge for events or meetings, a staff working area, and one enclosed private zone for design director.
In the Design Lounge area, the overall design needed to fulfill certain purposes events, meetings and parties, in order to build and consolidate the design firm’s image, and above all, achieving the motto Enjoy Your Design Life.
CHALLENGE: When designing the brand new office space, the designer was looking for something unusual. To be specific, the design brief called for an innovative workspace solution that would be dynamic and versatile, instead of a typical or commercial setting. The company new workplace would allow potential clients to experience directly and leave an imprint on our visitor mind.
The firm has introduced the idea of a design lounge not only a customer oriented approach, but also the vision and philosophy raised by the design director, aiming at curating a friendly, engaging atmosphere with causal vibe that employees could enjoy working inside.
